A little tip on soft paint spray some water while polishing to keep it cool. And use a wool pad it keeps the heat down

Hi. Great question, However it really depends on the paint and how far you are going with swirl or scratch removal. There is no "best" product or pad combo that works for everything. you simply have to start with a combo and see what the paint needs from there. Are you trying to remove swirls completely? Do you just want about 50% of the swirls removed? Do you just want gloss?

Phil: Great video, I really enjoy the paint correction & ceramic coating videos. I noticed that you started off with a yellow pad, then looked like you switched to a white one. What determines which pad you use.

Hi. Thanks! So sometimes when polishing you come across panels that are repainted and they react differently to the combo that I using. So I will switch it up and try another combo to compensate. Firstly, great video as usual. Quick question; what speed do you run your cordless polisher on when using your Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting pads? I ran my Adams Swirl Killer on High (Level 3) and killed both my pads instead lol.

Hi. We always run at higher eat speed possible. But we don’t do long polishing cycles, I found that over heats the paint and pads. I had a few pads burn out and smoke because it out to much pressure and went way to long on the cycle.

Anything past 4 on a rupes will just ruin pads, overheat paint and pads and leave a poorer finish then a slower speed. Also with any pad avoid edges or trim as they can destroy a new pad in Seconds.

We used a variety of products and pads. I believe we mainly used DIY Gold Standard and the orange LC pads on this one. With a few areas that we used a microfiber pad to get out heavier scratches.

I know I've said it before, but I think it bears repeating. Love your down-to-earth approach to detailing; you actually show the good and the bad sides of a job, where sometimes you can only do so much to a vehicle. Especially if the customer is not paying for, say, a full paint correction. Even though I don't detail vehicles as a full time business (mostly just friends and family at this point), I try to stay within the limits of what the customer is paying for, though sometimes I will throw in a little extra something, like applying a coating the windshield or a quick buff of the headlight lenses if I think I can make them look better with a minimum of effort. Anyhow, thanks for sharing, and keep up the great work!

Very true. My pee as tents just traded in their Avalon and actually got a great price! Very unusual but right now is the best time to trade because dealers are hurting to find good vehicles. They got about a $1000 less then what they would have sold it outright for. But it’s because it was an Avalon with low miles.

Tesla has the be the WORST paint I have ever detailed and I mean ever. What crap. I feel so sorry to tell Tesla owners. Sorry guys but I can’t sneeze on this paint without it leaving a mark as it’s so so soft and it’s so thin just like Mr Musk’s toilet paper! Hell if you pay 60-100,000 e for a car you expect more!!
