I have a Maltipoo, we went to get her groomed today and they said they wanted to shave her since she has matting. We left and didn’t get her groomed because we wouldn’t want to shave off her thick fluffy fur. Thank you for the tips I will definitely try them out!

@@poodlemom does anyone else use a kitchen whisk to remove snowballs that collect on their dogs for, specially, during warmer days in winter? I find it works great
@patrickpadddy55985 ай бұрын
Sorry but if it’s not brushed or worked out slowly then no it’s being shaved and grow back new! That gives you a chance to correct ya mistakes. Just brushed mine after leaving it paid price with sequels an barks. Just try if not it’s not fair to have hair if not in show or grooming comps.

Slicker brush comb! Now line brush start slow usually feet Poms then work up brushing down! As to not Matt hair more. Now when scissoring it’s brushed up always to add volume but blown out all directions. Steel comb is the. BEST gets the hair out vertical - slowly gently tugs them out. Though if not it’s shave time.

Ears topknot armpits! Groin , back , tail sometimes feet! Always shave them out plus face. Keeps off dirt an looks so good. Tails usually stay ok unlike the neck n body. Slowly take time to brush an it’s worth it.

@@poodlemom it's a minefield in the UK as we see the very same puppy photographs advertised on different sites from different locations and sellers. Very scared to get deposit scammed, hurt and let down it's not the exciting experience it felt like it was going to be unfortunately. However I will find him Jake or her Sally soon 🙏🏼💛🏴

Hi, do you have any alternative for the slicker brushes, that are available here in the Philippines?
@poodlemom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alliana! Hahah none that I know of so far. I have been seeing a lot of imitations, but I am scared to try them out for fear of wasting money and not finding any use for the said brushes. >_

What did you give your dog to put her down like that?!!! I need that for my dogs who are very uncooperative.
@poodlemom Жыл бұрын
Hahah honestly I didn’t give her anything. As a puppy I just got her used to this. So now she let’s me do it to her with no problems. Then I reward her with Chicken Feet after.

Very nice video with a lot of great tips. But not all of us have the unique grooming table that you have. We would all like to put our dogs under general anesthesia like you do to put your dog to sleep during the comb out. But thanks for sharing.
@poodlemom8 ай бұрын
Hahahah 😂 this anesthesia is called socialization training. It’s a free med 😚😚😚 My table is also like you said super duper special from Ikea which can be bought in practically any country 😉 Thanks for watching!

Is the wood handle one Mark 2?
@poodlemom2 жыл бұрын
Hello! All the slicker brushes have wooden handles. Are you talking about the one smaller slicker brush with the light wooden shade? If so, then yes, that’s the Mark II ^^

@@poodlemom thank you!! I’m buying brushes for my maltipoo, not sure if the baby g will be too hard core for him
@poodlemom2 жыл бұрын
@@jianingelsa8027 I think you can start with the Mark II. In all honesty not everyone can deal with the Big G slicker. Because you know, life just happens and we can’t help it. I too am guilty these days of not being able to brush my girls as often as I used to. ^^ And when this happens, the first brush I grab is the Mark II to loosen the fur first. ^^

Regular grooming then your dog won't get matted,if it does get badly matted the most humane way is to clip as matts are attached to skin. Her dog is not badly matted
