I am thrilled to see this! People used to tease me when I would make pouches with toothpaste a new toothbrush, soap, a wash rag, sanitary pads, some silk hair ties, shampoo, deep conditioner, a set of combs, a pick, and jojoba oil and leave them in public bathrooms with a note saying "free for those who need" People may have no way to take care of a small knot and it becomes a matt so fast. Maybe my small act of kindness can prevent some difficulties that can become overwhelming. Why not be compassionate and helpful rather than judgemental?

@SilverBelleASMR Your absolutely correct it’s never right to just judge someone and you have no clue what their story is and sometimes it doesn’t have to be years for your hair to get matted I know for a fact mine gets tangled up in a bun after a couple weeks if I’m not consistent or I have it in a protective style wigs or even taking down braids that have been in a while I’ve taken two days to detangle my own hair it just happens I will never understand why people act like they are better then someone just because they may have different circumstances it’s insane.

Thank you! After watching your video I was finally able to detangle my 12yo daughter’s hair that had been matted for months! We had a deep conditioner that helped a lot, but the key was having the spray bottle (water mixed with a little more conditioner) and sticking to the rat tail comb (even the fine teeth, which were great for removing dead hair caught up in the knots!). By the way patience was the other key - those of you struggling with the same should know this was a marathon - started at 2pm and finished at midnight with just a 1.5 hr break for dinner. Hang in there you can do it too!

When my daughter was young, her hair was very unruly from playing/swimming. The best product I found was 'Unite 7 Seconds'. Spray and let it sit for '7 seconds' (see what they did there) and it would comb through smooth.

I grew up without a mom and have very thin, very curly hair which tangles extremely easily. I did not have access to or have any good products to keep my hair good. I remember crying sometimes and just ripping my hair with a comb or brush. I would always put it up in a bun every day because of it and had low self esteem. Tangled hair is no joke! You are such a blessing!

An excellent detangler is "Oribe Run-Through Detangler Primer". I won't lie is a bit expensive at $37 BUT a small amount goes a long way. I hope this helps someone. 🙏

I've been natural for 6 years and hope this tip helps at least one person out there. Detangle first then put your hair in at least 4 big plaits. You can wash and deep condition that way. Your hair will be perfectly clean and tangle free after the process. You can thank me later!! 💜❤💙💚💛

I couldn't comment on the video you made about the lady that didn't wash her hair for a year..that was amazing..I loved your judgment free zone. you are a great soul...Your patience is priceless .Thank you for the video..I have hair that is very up and down too manage..One product that I have tried only on emergency to detangle is by Biolage...its a detangeling solution..it does work ..after I mix a little coconut oil with it...thank you for the beautiful work you do ..keep inspiring everyone with your amazing talent...I agree Shishhkabob happens..Life is so up and down..You bring a beautiful light to our lives..

Miracle 10 is a great product for this! It's not very cheap but so worth it! I found a store brand that's says compare to Miracle 10 at Walmart that works almost just as well!

My hair is sooo straight (which I really don't like at all... Typical I know) but I've had it like that in the back before.. It only took a cpl of days... Not the whole head but a section in the back, I live in Florida so the heat and the fact I just left it in a messy bun thing for a cpl of days sleep n all... N it gets sections like that... If you just rip a brush through it breaks all it hair... I love watching your channel, it's so satisfying whatching the end result too. I've never been abt good at doing anything to my hair but I def appreciate the tips on just keeping it tangle free lol... First time since I was a child that I've had long hair

Great video! My hair is similar to the manequins. I find some shampoo and conditioner makes it knotty a lot but one Im using now is better at detangling. So odd! I had so much knott issues for ages

I recently had a baby and was diagnosed with PPD. My hair is loc’d but my daughters hair is matted due to me being so overwhelmed with it. I have very long fine hair it's down past my butt & it constantly tangles every second of the day no matter what. My daughter's hair is also very long & knots very easily so my life is detangling, I need all the tips I can get! lol 🤎

I have the exact same hair. I love it to death but it tangles so much from the scalp down to my thighs. The best trick I've found is to put it in more than one braid if I know I'll be out of commision. Preferably at least one or two braids are high up and one or two are low. French braids with hair past my fingertips can be difficult so this gives similar protection without creating tangles near the bottom. Also hair that long can be put up in a bun with a single stick. Those buns can be very quick and the stick can be removed at night. The buns hold for a short time so sometimes I just slap a satin sleep cap over it and wake up with very few tangles. Generally when I'm doing better I try and comb my hair most days, even if it's just running my fingers through the trouble spots to make sure they aren't matting up on me.

Leave-in-conditioner is a must. The ingredient dimethicone also does wonders!!!

I wish I had someone like you near me. My hair used to be so long and pretty but now…. I just have a few baby hairs in the front that aren’t knotted into it. I’ve tried tried to brush it but then I just get mad at myself and just stop. I lost my best and ONLY friend two years ago, quit my job and moved to a place where I absolutely do not leave the house. Since she died I’ve just stopped. Stopped everything. It’s hard when you don’t have anyone to talk to or help when you’re trying to ask for help. I just want me back
