How to diagnose and fix locked up rear brake calipers on W126 W124 W123 Benz

That must be the standard fixed caliper I've been reading about. Easy enough system for rebuilding as long as the O-rings between the two halves isn't leaking. Thank you my friend.

@@straybenzes I will pay careful attention to that fact. Already am replacing most of the front brakes, as they aren't behaving correctly. I'll just pull the rears off in the process of rehabbing the entire system. My continued regard for your expertise in these matters. Thank you so very much.

For cars that haven’t had the brake hoses replaced you might want to check those as well. They have a tendency to swell shut. When applying the brakes the pressure will force the fluid in the caliper, but it won’t release after letting of the brakes.
