How To Diagnose and Repair an IR Remote Control

Nice one - I’m doing videos on basic repairs too but not uploaded much yet- the basic tip of holding a remote to a camera is something useful, one of my first tests and some cameras e.g iPhone have IR filters but the face camera doesn’t. Another tip is using white vinegar and corrosive batteries , sometimes remotes can’t be saved from leaking batteries

I suffered an issue where the plastic in front of the receiver led had fogged up with old age. I popped the plastic for this out leaving a hole and this fixed the issue.

I have an issue like the IR blaster stays on all the time and if a button is pressed the IR turns off...this has happened after a incident of battery leak, and now I'm not able to operate the SONY home theatre DVD. Can anyone shed light on this issue.

I have a cheap GoPro knockoff that I’ve removed the IR filter from the sensor. It displays IR signals nice and bright on the lcd display
