I’m 58 years old and just started embracing my curls for the first time ever! I have flat ironed my hair every day for as long as I can remember. I’ve been watching tons of videos for the past month to learn as much as I can and I have to say, your videos are great. I love the way you explain things so I can actually understand it and your demonstrations are so helpful. Thank you and wish me luck on my new curly girl journey!

Thank you so much for your very helpful videos. I have had straight, pixie cut hair my whole life. When I hit menopause it turned CURLY...almost overnight. I REALLY appreciate your personality, time, energy, and great tips. My hair was driving me crazy with frizz and straightening. Your videos have made this journey much easier and I am finally having fun embracing my curls and feeling sexy at the same time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I know this is an older video but it came up on my feed. I wonder why you don't comb the gel in ? Does it work better by applying it after your curls are formed ? I notice how many ringlets you have now and I see the advantage of using the brush styling. I have been training my hair this way as well and separate in sections but then I apply the curl creme and then the gel. But if you get better hold by applying the gel this way instead of combing it through then I'll try that. Sorry to ask you 3 years later. Thx

Awesome video! Just tried it with whatever products I had lying around and WOW amazing results. I have a conair knockoff Denman brush that was like $3 so I could probably get better results with the real thing lol. Will be picking up the Cake products you recommend for sure. Also for anyone out there reading this with denser 2c/3a hair (like me) and cannot SOTC with oils, try glycerin free lube lol! Yes it’s weird, but it WORKS. I just use the Walmart version of Astroglide (water based).

Hola! I'm new to your channel and learning a lot. I'm transitioning from always straightening my hair after every wash to let my hair just be. How long does it take to dry your hair? I know all hair is different--after 10-15 minutes I can't stand it & have to do something else--usually too busy & have to leave the house for work. Then I wait about 4 more hours to finally completely dry while I get comments about just getting out of the shower to then scrunch & fluff my hair. Just wondering how long so I can be brave & try to blow dry all the way.
@kellyv34484 жыл бұрын
How long it take you from start to finish? I was in an accident 3 years ago February and my shower time is longer now to begin with then toss in the CGM. I also fell down the CGM rabbit whole the summer after my accident ;0) I find myself rushing my drying process to be able to get out the door and to work on time....or I end up only washing my hair once a week on the weekend and then I get frustrated with my frizzy hair from my refresh. Yup been doing this for 2 years and still haven't figured it all out. Thanks for your great videos.
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
It’s all good, girl! I bank on this whole diffusing process taking between 30-60 minutes, but sometimes I stop after I hover dry my roots and let the rest air dry if I am pressed for time.
@clairevol3 жыл бұрын
I recently started this method and I’m so confused and frustrated 🥺. I feel like my hair is soaking up the products really well, but either my hair feels greasy and I’ve used too many of the product(s) or my hair is beautiful but on other parts way to frizzy and dry. And when I use gel or custard of jelly.... (I’ve tried everything!!!) the cast is beautiful but I can’t scrunch out the crunch and make it fluffy and airy. It just want to be dull and stringy 😤. What am I doing wrong?!!!!!
@TheFitCurls3 жыл бұрын
It honestly sounds to me like you’re going overboard with product, but without seeing your hair it’s hard to tell! If you can’t SOTC with just your hands, try an oil/serum to break it up more. And if that doesn’t work, use LESS HOLD! You may not need that much to achieve the results you want! Either go for a light to medium hold product or use less of the harder hold products and emulsify them with water :)

Get yourself AG fast food leave in and AG recoil. The best products I’ve found to date and I’ve tried quite a lot. They’re expensive but I get them when ulta has them on sale. The stuff is witchcraft seriously. I am in coastal MS and the humidity and heat is a challenge here like Florida, it’s the only thing that gives me a great cast but scrunches out to super soft (almost) frizz free curls, the more I manipulate it the more I get frizz. Far better results using a diffuser the products is activated by heat. It’s a sort of hybrid gel-creme. Smells lightly like vanilla and the fast food smells lightly of strawberry.

Help! Once I hover and get my cast it’s very elongated and isn’t bouncy. When I try to pixie diffuse to make it bouncier, it’s so stiff that it doesn’t squash down inside the diffuser. If I pixie first, I love how bouncy my hair gets but it’s so frizzy! What am I doing wrong? Should I switch to pixie before the cast is fully formed?
@TheFitCurls3 жыл бұрын
I totally get this struggle!! Try switching to pixie diffusing when you reach a soft cast - that will be when you feel a shell forming but it’s not super crispy yet. The other thing I’ve been trying lately - and will have to share soon - is Wavy Curly Ali’s hammock diffusing! Helps the curls to spring up a bit more when they’re still more malleable!
@tarynsmith80073 жыл бұрын

How wet should your hair be when you begin diffusing? Sopping wet? Wet but no longer dripping? Slightly wetter than damp? Or damp?
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
Great question! It’s best to start with damp hair. After I apply my products I microplop with a t-shirt towel to remove excess water. This will shorten your drying time and prevent heat damage 💛
