I love my Branson 4815h...i call it my favorite son in law. Strong...always willing to work day or night and never says no. I cut 900’ of drainage swale on my homestead. I have power link and tilt installed on my 3 point. I used a 6’ driveway blade and tilted it 40 degrees and took 4” cuts at a time. Each pass the tire rode the cut and made a nice 12” 40 degree slope. You can probably do the same thing with a box blade

Great job! I know its hard seeing where the bucket and loader is from the driver seat! Sense you got you a little ditch started maybe you could put one side of the tires into the ditch and drive down it with the box blade down to slope the sides a little more?

Here's a little poem I thought of while I was viewing this episode Hank and Gena. Your on Hamilton Farm right now, Hanks on Brutus and not a plow. You'll never get rich by digging that ditch, but you made Gena happy and proud. Howboutcha? I enjoyed this episode and can't wait for the next. How's Olive Oyl doing Hank? Hope you get back at her. Please, y'all stay healthy and safe and cheers from this old retired coot living in Tennessee. I do write poetry and had 2 of them in the class of 1969's paper published for our 50th reunion so I am a published author.💖👍😷🍻👀✌

I use the box-blade to make a swale. Works very well. I followed some other videos on using a box-blade. I'm using a '52 Ford 8n so it doesn't have any downforce on the 3-point and with the Homestead box-blade it worked great even in heavy sod. 👍

Probably one of the hardest things too do with a tractor is cutting out sod evenly with a bucket . You did really good for first try . A really good trick for making a swale is taking the skis off the pto tiller . Mark your lines of farthest edge of swale on the ground each side with spray paint . Then back in with tiller start grinding slowly bring down too center deep then back up slowly too second line . Do the whole swale then use the bucket too remove the nice mixed loose dirt with ease . With soil conditions like yours no rocks it’s really easy . You will get a nice curved swale too 👍

Thanks man, thats a great idea!

Hi Hank. Yall always have great ideas of new tasks that can be done using a tractor. You seem to be able to self instruct yourself very well. I hope to narrow my tractor decision soon. I have a fear of purchasing the wrong brand or wrong size tractor. I have looked at the Branson tractor. It appears to be a solid made machine. I look forward to your reviews on your Branson tractor.
