Our Pastor always starts his teachings by saying, first, “Open your Bible, phone, scrolls or whatever you have and if you don’t have a Bible, pick a free one up at the Guest Relations Desk.” Then he’ll remind us not to trust him, but to READ FOR OURSELVES! Never believe anything except the Word of God! 😊

I just found your channel, as I’m just started to dig deeper into Gods Word. And this is all gold! I first started out trying to read the whole bible in a year, but I’m a slow reader and I forget what I just read so I felt like I wasn’t getting anything from what I was reading. So I started reading a chapter a day to dig deeper into it and I’m learned more. So happy for videos like yours that can help me learn more! thank you! What you are doing for everyone is absolutely wonderful, Faith! I am watching (out of order) all of your videos and learning so much about how to study the Bible because you are SO RIGHT...as you said in one of your videos, women are not taught how to study the Bible like men are. At least I haven't been and I've been raised a Christian, went to Christian school and started college at a Christian college and am JUST NOW at 52 learning how to study the Bible and 'Dig Deeper' because none of those places taught me how including churches I've attended. I didn't try to figure it out myself either, so that's on me, but God bless you & all those like you that are teaching people how to do this to help us how to 'Eat The Word' and draw us closer in our walk with Jesus. :)

Interesting and nerdy, and it is wonderful! Thank you for sharing information that would otherwise be inaccessible for everyone: I don't have the time or funds to go to seminary myself - I have been called in a different direction. The time and effort you put towards filming and editing this content is not lost on me - it is very much appreciated!!! I have not watched all of your videos yet (I just discovered you two days ago), but my request for more nerdiness would be to delve deeper into the topic of navigating false prophets. It seems to me that the last 5-10 years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people teaching scripture who are not really teaching truth, and learning how to navigate that minefield would be amazing - I do not want to be led astray. I realize that scripture is what I lean back on, I am mostly referring to the supporting books, videos, and online resources we may use to study our scripture to better understand it more. For instance, there are a lot of commentaries out there, but I have a feeling there may be quite a few that have more opinion than truth behind them - how can I discern which is which? I appreciate all you have done, and I realize this question and comment might be a long shot for a video. Thank you again for all you have done and all I have learned from you so far. I am just beginning!

Thoughts on women’s hair and head covering?
@HowtoFaithALife3 жыл бұрын
In the passages, it seems pretty clear the Paul is referring to the cultural context of the time- while the women were living in their newfound Christian freedom to no longer need to wear head coverings, it actually HURT their testimony because prostitutes were the only ones who DIDN’T wear head coverings in that day and time. So, based on my studies on scripture, it seems like those passages Paul was more concerned with the testimony and witness of the church than enforcing any Christian dress code. But, nonetheless, I love my sisters who disagree with me and can understand the confusion and history around the issue. I definitely think it’s an honorable thing to do, which comes from a good good heart, but not necessary. Hope that makes sense! But what do you think? I’d be happy to hear your thoughts even if they are completely opposite of me!

Incidentally I have given thumbs up to many of your videos, and admire what you are doing. In this one you stress Sola Scriptura. But if you adhere to Sola Scriptura, how do you know that there are 66 books in the Bible and how do you know which 66 books should be in the Bible?

How to Faith A Life I attend a non denominational church and the Pastors wife and pastor alternate days in which she preaches. We have had women come and teach the word also. This topic has been something that has drawn my attention for several days. I’ve heard arguments from every side and breakdowns of Greek words and their meanings. Those oppose to it were usually men. Those for it were usually women. It would be nice to hear it from your perspective.
@HowtoFaithALife3 жыл бұрын
Cynthia Drepaul fewffff it’s a tough topic. I’ll pray about if I should share my opinion and start planning a video... I’ve been thinking about sharing about it for a while but haven’t known if I should! It’s a HEAVY subject! I’ll be 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@cynthiadrepaul19873 жыл бұрын
How to Faith A Life I agree with you wholeheartedly this topic is a major one. The church of Christ is so divided and I believe that this topic is one that causes division along with the doctrine of the Trinity and many others. My pastor once told me that it's okay not to agree to everything because the Apostels themselves had many disagreements on certain topics. Do you feel that women preachers present an issue to salvation?
@HowtoFaithALife3 жыл бұрын
Cynthia Drepaul no, I don’t think that female pastors cause an issue with salvation or anything like that and I totally agree that it’s okay to not agree on every. single. thing!!!! It’s hard because Pentecostals and Catholics are the MAJORITY of the church worldwide. I am part of the minority. I need to respect and love my brothers and sisters in the faith and not make assumptions! A lot of times we find that we agree on a lot more than we’d think we would with believers of another denomination! I truly think it’s serious spiritual warfare where Satan is trying to divide the church and take the attention off where our REAL battle is.
