(continued) Line that flat part up with the "open" part of the circular hole on the coil spring then push the rivet through the hole. Then (using pliers) rotate the rivet 180 degrees (so the subtle flat on the rivet is opposite the "open" portion of the circular hole on the coil spring). once it is secure to the spring, simply feed the oblong-end of the rivet back through the oblong hole in the drum and re-coil the spring in reverse order as you removed it. if you have any questions, just ask =)

Thanks for posting the video. I wish all of the steps you performed were on-camera, especially those inside the spring housing. Thanks anyway.

I had the same problem with mine. it was tricky to fix, but i succeeded. once you remove the "carousel" you should be able to better see what your (our) problem is (was). once the carousel has been removed, look in the guide tracks close to the center of the drum. you should notice an oblong hole and (hopefully) a small rivet laying somewhere around there. not sure what caused this (poor quality?), but that rivet is supposed to going through that hole and attached to the spring. The grease in a desert environment is like a magnet in a scrap yard. Dust and sand will stick to it and a disaster waiting to happen (Jessica Lynch and her squad used grease in their crew served weapon). In reality, grease are good for storing metal items like these cheap ammo drums, but if you go out to shoot in a dusty/sandy environment daily or even weekly, it is better to use CLP for easy application, clean up and better weapon functionality...

(continued) CAREFULLY remove the coil spring. starting from the center, start pulling out the coil spring. Be sure to keep pressure (with your free-hand's thumb) on the coil spring as you pull out (unwind) the coil spring. once removed, you will see the hole the rivet was supposed to be attached to. notice on the skinnier portion rivet that it appears to be round, however there is actually a very subtle flat part to it. have you been in a desert environment, shot, lived, deployed? and do you know that sand and grease are perfect mix for a disaster? that's why military guys/gals such as myself only use very light CLP. If you live in Oregon or Washington, then it makes sense to keep some of those grease...

The cover should come off with a slight effort. Make sure that the wheel is not binding... let me know if you still have more questions.

LoL I bought mine for $75 and there are the HD drums that costs $110, you can tell it's very well made because it has a good weight to it and the metal are thick, those are probably the Romanian made ones...

You're not supposed to clean out that grease! That grease is intentionally there & is supposed to last for the life of the drum. That's probably why you're having jamming problems.
