How to Disassemble and Reassemble a PS4 controller

FOR ANYONE WITH THE STUCK SCREW PROBLEM!!!!! I just did this and all I can say is use the smallest Phillips head screw driver you can, put on some gloves that will give you a good grip, push down on the screw really hard, and do it slowly. If you don't push hard enough or you try and go too fast you're going to strip the screw, and then you won't be able to take it apart unless you break it. And try to get tweezers or a toothpick or something and try to clean out the screw so the screwdriver is able to go deeper which will lessen your chance of stripping it. Hope this helps you people. Wrong if you have a screw that is stick out the a rubber band on top of the screw and the use the Phillips screwdriver .. it will grip the strip screw .. perfectly.. hope this helps

For those of you who are having troubles with FPS games and sprinting, all you have to do is take apart your controller, give it a bit of a clean, reassemble it and that should fix your problem. The controllers aren't airtight. Think about how much dust, hair and other stuff gets trapped in your controller.

Thank you for the video. I had ordered a front case the other week off eBay from China. Turned up today, the switch is piss easy. Just unclipping the front case off the controller was the only tricky bit. Nice white front - black back combo for me.

It's easy on PS4, I broke my PS3 controller and couldn't take my Xbox One controller apart, trust me, PS4 is easy to take apart.

Spartacus Smith Its actually easier on xbox one controller cause there are things inside that prevent it from falling apart and losing little pieces , On ps4 the triggers pop out and i keep losing buttons . Much easier to disassemble and assemble on xb1 .

You don't actually need to remove the Battery mounting to remove the inner chassis of the controller. In fact leaving it in place makes it easier to transplant the inner workings into the new shell. Saying the Options button isn't important is stupid. Also for the lightbar falling out on you, i'd recommend some foam rubber stops, or trying not to break the original set, makes reassembly a whole lot easier.

Oh Playstation! I love you for not making the triggers and trigger springs the same as the PS3 ones. I hated those damn things! My wife spilled soda on one of my new controllers, so I'm glad that this looks easier than the PS3. Thanks for the video. For everyone, (youll have to look up the power specs, but) if you don't know, you can install certain cell phone batteries in these controllers, so that the battery lasts 2x as long. It's easier if I just tell you to search for it. It's out there.
