I was lost in getting the touch screen back in, I knew it had to go in a certain way, but I didn't wanna remove the cable. Saw a few videos that skipped over that part in reassembly and you instantly solved my problem when I saw your touch screen disconnected and you fit it in that certain way. Best video on reassembly!

Just so everyone is aware, it’s ridiculously hard to get the touchpad in place without removing the ribbon cable. Also, make sure you use pliers so you don’t damage the connector.

This was so helpful. I was house sitting for family members and taken my PS4 slim with me. When I put it away back home I forgotten my controller was in my bad and tossed it aside. The grip popped apart and I'm really hoping it still works after I take the screws out and put it back together 😅

Welp.. just got back from cali, sat down in my room and was about to buy cod black ops 4, my controller didnt turn on so I charged, still didnt turn on so i deleted my controller from my bluetooth connections on my phone. Thank you! I took my controller apart and couldn't figure out what I did wrong. Turns out I had the brackets that hold down the light bar backwards and it was causing problems when I put the back plate on. Great video.

@@YourSixStudios Unfortunately you cannot, it only allows you to remap, i.e. you always have to have a specific function active in the R3 button. I tried remapping to other buttons that had less impact mid game / fire fights (I play a FPS), but in the end I happen to click it unintentionally and activating that other function mid game / fire fight.

Damned if I didn't knock my controller right into a bucket of iced tea! I took it apart as fast as I could and I rinsed it all off under cold water and I stuck it out in the sun on top of my diving board for a whole day. Putting everything back together it seemed easy enough but it wouldn't come on. I watch this video and realize the battery strip was inserted backwards 🤣😅. This really worked man thank you so much

Man I'm never tearing down a joystick a 5am again, but I think I fixed it, maybe, hopefully. The square wasn't working and the R1 was pressing on it's own when I pressed pause or flexed the joystick a little bit and it seems like it's working fine now

Cheers! Buttons were sticky so I had to give them a good clean and couldn’t figure out how to get the blasted touchpad back in. P.S. Sometimes sticky buttons has nothing to do with dust. You may need to only tighten the back screws as the two parts of the controller not being packed tightly together can interfere with the buttons.

Really great.but don't try this u can do it if it's gonna cost u slot to do it from a shop like I tried this on 3 of my controllers it goes real great at start but then there's a 80% chance u will lose ur R2 or L2 spring and get it down the mother board and then when u find it I have to open the whole thing and then ur option share and touch pad r a pain in the ass and they r impossible to fix and then it's super hard to even close the controller after that and even if u can close it u will still lose something do don't try to open it controllers or PS4s at home.

Mine was missing the bar that went above the light window. Strange! It is a white special edition version that I bought new. Also, the kit I bought for a spring I was missing seems to have different L1/L2 & R1/R2 buttons.
