When I first got into guns I had no idea how to clean and disassemble my AR 15 and your video helped me a lot. These cleaning videos may not be as appealing to seasoned firearm owners, but very helpful for people who are learning and new to firearms. 👍

I purchased a Shield EZ for my wife and she cannot re-install the slide (after field stripping) without grasping the Grip Module fully and pressing the Safety at the same time. In fact, if you look at the Owners Manual, they recommend using your Left Hand to hold the Grip Module, while, at the same time, pulling the Slide back with the Right Hand. I have fairly strong hands and I cannot re-installing the Slide with that technique. May the need to rename it: M&P NEZ (Not Easy).

"Well done good and faithful servant". I've watched many cleaning videos and this is now my "go-to" because you are so patient, thorough, and practical. I love my 380EZ and your clear instructions made cleaning equally EZ. I like how you allow "wobble room" for personal cleanliness, but don't cut corners on important do's and don'ts. THANK YOU. May God grease our tracks, so that even if we're going in the wrong direction we'll get there sooner so we can go in the right direction. :)

This is my goto video to make sure I'm cleaning my gun right. A couple of the things you mention (using pick under part that grabs rim & checking to see if the gun is properly reassembled or working) are not in any other videos I've watched. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If it rotates, oil it. If it slides, grease it. make sure your products are poly safe. pipe cleaners and Q - tips are great cleaning tools also. Good nylon bore brushes a must and can be used as jags too. Bore snakes are a quick and dirty cool tool. Nice to see you thinking about new shooter's, sometimes manuals are not well written or lack good photography.

It is hard to see it, until you do it. But when you squeeze the grip safety, the little safety blade tilts up. Which blocks the slide from moving all the way back. It takes a few times, to get the correct grip, when re-placing the slide. I love this little gun!

@williamgates56524 жыл бұрын
That's a topic of debate, but I usually clean and oil a pistol after every 500-1000 rounds. If I shoot just one box and intend to put the pistol away, I will clean and oil for storage purposes. Be sure to wipe the outside of the pistol as well.
@mariolawrence8974 жыл бұрын
I go shooting every week. And I clean right afterwards, at home, every time. A basic field strip and cleaning. You don’t need to do a complete disassembly and oiling that often though. As Mr. Gates mentioned, maybe every 500-1000 rounds. I oil my gun intermittently once every 1-3 months or so.
@rchjrh58414 жыл бұрын
As a former Marine, I'd tell you to clean your weapon every chance you get. Even if you didn't run any rounds through it LOL. My advice would be to give it a good cleaning (which is about what this video shows) every time you come home from the range. My preference is that a deep cleaning (beyond field stripping) is welcomed every 750-1500 rounds. The last thing anyone needs is a malfunction due to a dirty weapon, but most decent firearms will fire even if it's a bit dirty. However, IMO , if it doesn't fire because it's too clean there's a problem with the weapon. Hope this helps.

I have the same .380....so far it seems like a good gun but I've only shot about 30 rounds thru it....still haven't cleaned it yet tho....my only complaints about this gun is the plastic /composite trigger and spring guide rod (whatever its called).....it seems like a decent gun other than those two issues....I'll never be able to trust or rely on the s&w like I do my PT92 .....but the s&w fits nice In my pocket and is more comfortable to carry on my person when I'm driving.....so that actually makes it equal to my pt92 in regards of practicality to carry around with me. I have to carry my pt92 in a detective style shoulder holster to be comfortable but when it's not hidden under a coat everyone stairs at it and that makes me uncomfortable....the s&w fits my front pocket pretty good but depending on the pants I'm wearing it's not always the easiest thing to Remove from my pocket.
