Hello Frank Saab, THANK YOU for another VERY helpful video. I fought with auto parts store and Harbor Freight tools, but they are all cylindrical at the end that mates with the locking spring in the fuel line and, as you well stated, "grossly inadequate. The right tool is everything and the Lesle 39210 tool your recommended is tapered/coned at the end and made the job easy! Ordered it, arrived today....fuel line disconnected! It was worth every penny! Best regards, Mr. P

Tip for anyone in a country where they don't sell that tool , or if you are caught short , late on an evening. You can cut a plastic silicone / mastic sealant nozzle down the right size and that can disconnect the fuel line.

Yeah, thanks for sharing this. Actually have a celica but same fuel rail.. need to replace injectors.. do you happen to know if Corolla injectors (same engine 1.8l 1zz-fe) work in same motor in celica and are actually better?
@Merryfrankster_5 жыл бұрын
Yes the 1zz injectors will fit and work across the board. There may be some very small differences in the injector flowrate depending on the model year but this will not affect the running of the engine.

Good stuff but how do you disconnect the other end of that hose from the metal line that goes under the car? I am replacing the three fuel lines and two brake lines, starting from where you and then running to the back brakes and fuel tank on a 2000 corolla.

I don't know specifically about your car what fitting is used at the other end of that hose but generally the fuel line fittings are disconnected either by squeezing two external tabs OR using a fuel fitting tool.

@@Merryfrankster_ My fuel rail looks almost like yours and has a locking cover.. The locking cover is up closer to the fuel rail and actually snaps over the 90 degree bend. But that's not where I need to disconnect it. The other side of that tube looks like it's bolted to the fire wall. My difficulty is working around the engine and my line is not bolted to the firewall. Okay Thanks.

@@mostlymoparih5682 The plastic cover is for "stress relief" it holds the two ends together to prevent the fittings from being pulled apart - even though it is a locking fitting it can be pulled apart by stress and vibration. As you may have noted already it pops right off giving you access to the joint itself. For the other end of your fuel line you probably need to access it from underneath the car. If it is secured to the frame, just unsecure it, then you can separate the fitting.

My car has a fuel pressure leak somewhere, and I think is in that fuel line conector . How can I disarm that conector to check the o ring inside the clip?
@Merryfrankster_4 жыл бұрын
The line from the firewall to the rail is not really serviceable, I suggest you replace the entire line from the firewall to the rail with new.. Or you can mess with it and try to pull out the o-ring with a very fine pick. Not suggested.

As a rule if you are not seeing fuel leaking, there is no loss of pressure at that location.
