Thanks for the helpful video. I'm considering a UV unit to supplement my regular cleaning. I just want to point out to those that decide to purchase this brand or any other that uses the replaceable bulb, do not touch the bulb with your hands. Doing so leaves oils and contaminants on it which can shorten the life of the bulb. Clean the bulb using some rubbing alcohol and install it with a glove on, or use a clean rag/towel.

I use the Rescomf ventilation disinfector for my DeVilbiss cpap machine. I understand that most hospitals use this device also. Works great!

How can this sterilize the inside of the tubing effectively? The tubing has a lot of ribbing and some solid areas, and even the clear parts of the tube are not fully clear, which I have to presume limits full exposure to the UV light?

Do you need the Lumin Bullet hose cleaner to clean your hose with UV, or does putting your hose in the main Lumin machine also work?

Using the Lumin on the tube works. Technically, the Bullet would be better... But we don't think its worth it. Cleaning the tube with soap and water and then using the Lumin is plenty.

The Lumin people actually state that the Lumin unit does NOT clean the tubing so they have a unit called the "Bullet" which allows you to pass a cathode tube through the inside of the tubing to sanitize it. If you place the tubing in the main unit, it simply cleans the outside of the tubing leaving the inside of the tubing still with possible "nasty beings" such a virus etc.

Why are these machines so expensive? Why not use an less inexpensive uv bottle cleanser? I think they charge too high for these machines. Can you try out a uv baby bottle machine?

Don't worry. Just wipe it down. And change the filter at the recommended internal. Check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZKyeauGhqaFhtk In this video we wash all parts of a CPAP/BiPAP, and will show you areas you need to wash (such as removing the inner machine value/connector)

You can! It will help disinfect the filter when you are doing your routine cleaning. But changing the filter at the recommended time intervals is still required, since there will still be dust and debris within the filter. So if you are wondering if you can replace the filters less often (if you are using the Lumin), the answer would be no.

It does not clean tubing - Lumin also has what is called a "Bullet" that is used just for the tubing.

@@chrisraisin5587 I checked - it won't work for the resmed10/resmed11 climate hose as it's an "L" angle to engage to machine at machine end and the mask end has a stopper on it so it's impossible to get the bullet light in there. That's too bad so I'll just use my tube brush and dawn for the inside

My provider told me that if I use Lumin , the guaranty on my CPAP woul’nt apply. Is that true?

you don't use the Lumin on the actual machine. Only on the masks, tube etc. So it's covered. Putting your machine in it or using an ozone cleaner on the machine voids the warranty.
