@kentyler966 good question. I’d also like to know what is a water-based lubricant.

I’ve tried all the masks literally …no kidding……found one finally ResMed N20 comfortable fits great ..I have no leaks. Everything is great. However, I still take it off after 2, 3,or four hours …can’t get past five hours after months and months and months if only my doctor could read the Oscar data and tell me why I’m taking it off and what’s going on …my sleep therapy is working, however, there’s a reason I’m taking the mask off if only doctors could do more than just read the minimal data like I can

I read you loud and clear. I am also wearing the same mask. My sleep therapy is very good. When I sleep. However, I do get a bit of anxiety when I go to place it on. The best part is taking it off in the morning. I average about 7 hrs a night wearing the mask.

Doctors will not help you, you have to figure out on your own. Chances are if you’re waking up at the same time maybe is something else.

Thank you Doctor, you really answered all my questions, my mask irritates my nose the minute I put it on, so I’m gonna put it on and watch TV to get use to wearing it during bedtime, great information.😊

I'm 26 and am obese so I got the machine. It feels very wrong to have it on my face, so unnatural. I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits, I gained weight when I got really depressed, I was 21 years old and just moved out, spent time mostly alone, eating. I used to exercise all the time everyday, I hope I can get the joy of that back soon again, I work really hard to be able to change my life and lose weight. I have 2 rabbits who jump on my bed whenever, it doesn't bother me. It makes me feel sad I have to separate myself from my rabbits (fence around my bed 😂) or they would chew the mask off me 😢 I havent told my family I got the machine, they would just shame me. I will try to wear the mask every evening and get used to it.

Thanks for sharing! It’s great that you’re committed to changing your lifestyle. It can take time to get used to the machine, but you’re not alone in this. Your rabbits sound like wonderful companions! Wishing you all the best as you adapt! 💪🐰

Any advise for someone who uses a CPAP and has a Jones tube in their tear duct. None of my sleep doctors or the people who helped me with my CPAP had even heard of a Jones tube before. Most nights it does not bother me but some nights I have to sleep with the side of my face pushed into a pillow to keep it from leaking air.
@lordflick8952 ай бұрын
Still sucks and sometimes tries to waterboard me in my sleep. I'll keep on keeping on I guess.
@TheSleepDoctor2 ай бұрын
Hi! To reduce water in your CPAP tubing, try lowering the humidity setting, keeping the room warmer, using a hose cover for insulation, and ensuring the tubing is elevated.
@lordflick8952 ай бұрын
@TheSleepDoctor Hose cover! Odds ore that my fan is cooling the hose, causing the problem. That sounds like a good solution

Bipap wearer: The mask itself doesn't bother me. It's when I don't fall asleep fast enough, and it begins to blow too hard. The air feels like a leaf blower. I have to wear a mouth cover because my nose closes up sometimes, so it's just weird. The only solution for this is to restart my bipap. It's okay. Just annoying sometimes. Real issue though is having weird aches and pains. I sleep on my back more now cause of the system so maybe that's why. Also feel uncomfortable with having to breathe with the same rhythm. I'm getting used to a lot of this and trying to with with it. Seems that the real solution to these discomforts is to lose weight. Luckily I do have brain energy. Overall it's a blessing for me. I'm certain that my death was around the corner before this.

I have been using the cpap machine for 3 nights and I have slept all night the last two nights. I’m just paranoid that the mask will have leaks so I think I am adjusting it tighter than it should be. I just don’t want it to come off or have leaks. Any advice?

Can't sleep when the ResMed machine turns itself off every few minutes over and over again all through the night. I lasted ten days before I gave up. Mask never sealed. Tried two different ones. I don't think the guy "helping" me knew what he was doing or cared or fitted a mask properly. (I always describe myself as having a beachball head and he gave me a medium mask.) Life's too short.
@Forever.Remain.Nameless21 күн бұрын
Life is going to be real short for you if you don't wear tht 😷mask😂. I'm struggling with it too, my insurance company will charge me if I don't wear it at least 4hrs a day and so far I've met their time requirements maybe 50% of the time lol. Feels like I'm being forced to wear it smh.... thinking about giving this contraption back and just getting the mouthpiece
@upscalebohemian537221 күн бұрын
@@Forever.Remain.Nameless That's okay with me. I've done everything I wanted to do in this life and have a no putting up with bullshit policy in my old age. The THIRD mask worked much better (a |Philips Respironics DreamWear Nasal Pillow Mask). It's also the easiest to put on and off.

I wonder if he couldn’t mention the word “doctor” a few more times? 😂😂 That’s insecurity. He’s trying to equate himself to a medical doctor, which immediately makes him questionable. Sadly, if he just delivered his message without the self-aggrandizement, he’d be perfectly credible.
