How to dismantle a Sofa Bed Mechanism on a DFS sofa.
In this video i'll show you How to remove a Sofa Bed Mechanism on a 3 Seater Sofa bed.
After that I will show you how to remove the Sofa Arms so the sofa
can be carried easily and taken to the Household Recycling Tip.
As a complete Sofa it is very heavy and hard to lift. By disassembling the sofa bed it is easy for one person to get it out of a property and into the back of a Van.

I’m so happy, I could cry! I’ve been waiting for over three years to get my monstrosity out of a room! And this is it?! 😳 I haven’t looked at our sofa bed yet, but it can’t be any more complicated even if it’s a bit different. If I can pull this off, I can die a happy woman. To avoid all of that messing around at the end, after removing the screws and loosening the bolts (the rails are slotted and will slide off the bolts) watch your fingers and retract the bed into its original position. Then slide the rails off the bolts and out it comes

Eliza Vlachou Unfortunately not but take a small object like a nail or knitting needle then poke that into the hole and measure it, at least you will get the length correct. With regards to width you will have to get a few different ones. If not sure go slightly bigger as its wood it should create a new thread/bite. Good luck

That’s no problem, quite an easy job. If I was you I’d use your phone and take a photo of what bolts/screws go where. Then when you put it back together it will be much easier!

No idea, easiest solution is double blow up lilo beds specifically for sleeping on. We bought one for camping, really good.

Yes although it’s tricky to fold out if it’s not bolted into the sofa, but it would work

In that case if you put 2 lengths of wood in a van you can have a pull out bed 🤔
