How to Divide Hosta Easily

I love hostas!!! When I recover from my upcoming back surgery, I am going to move a couple of hostas plants around. Might even try to divide them!!!

years ago, my mom divided tons of hosta. Now, my wife does... I've never seen it done, so, thanks for this video!!!

You did this back at the end of June I think, is there any reason why I couldn’t divide hosta in the fall when it’s cooler? While the plants might not enjoy the heat of midsummer, I cannot stand it, lol. 🥵 For my own personal comfort, I would prefer to do the divisions in the fall, Especially since I have daylilies, and Iris to divide as well!

Hi there. Early Spring and early Fall are the best times to divide your Hosta. However, you can really divide most perennials any time of the year as long as you keep them very well watered. I hope you're able to divide many of your perennials this Fall. What a beautiful garden you'll have next year with more plants divided all around the yard. 💞🌹
