This just went to prove to me that I’m not doing anything WRONG when using my non dominant hand and that it really is just the awkwardness of the tools. I find myself unintentionally moving my non dominant hand as you were and at times forgetting to anchor so it’s more of a practice thing than an im doing it wrong thing

Hey its super fun trying to recreate dimensional art since watching this channel I've fallen in love with dimensional art! Keep in mind first few times won't look the same as hers. Unless you get the layers of thinness just right . It might look a lil like you just bunched colors together in a nail don't discourage yourself from that keep practicing and it'll get better every time you do them!!!!!!!

@katielunn63943 жыл бұрын
I was just talking to someone in the comments of a video yesterday how funny it is that my right hand ALWAYS comes out better than my left😅(she was left-handed, so the opposite hand was her better one, but same concept!) This video gave me mixed emotions: I was uplifted that even a pro like Melissa de la Cruz also has some left-handed struggles; at the same time though, it kinda bummed me out just because you hear a lot of nail techs say that they can do both hands equally well, fast, and with ease- I don't know if they're kinda fibbing or stretching the truth or not, but that's what I was always looking forward to, like,"If I just keep doing nails all the time and force myself to use my left, eventually it won't feel awkward!", so it just kinda sucks to find out that it's probably never gonna be as comfortable as my right hand... I hope that makes sense? Of course the nails are amazing, I knew they would be with Melissa's work 😍, and I don't want it to seem like I'm putting her down at ALL! (CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW SALON!) First and foremost, I felt uplifted that even she has some non-dominant discomfort as great as she is, it makes her more human lol, (because she always seems just PERFECT,ya know?) and I felt better about myself that it was normal, I guess, to feel awkward with your opposite hand. MELISSA::: If you see this, Girl, I hope you give blood! You have AMAZING VEINS!😅 I LOVE your type of veins; I bet you're an easy stick!😅👩🏼⚕️💉 (lol, other nurses... yall get it!) Sorry so long...I was just making sure I wasn't being offensive, I have the utmost respect for this woman and her skill!

This was so helpful! Thank you for sharing this in real time. It's really helpful to see Melissa work with her non dominant hand to see the angles she turns her hand, especially when filing. I sometimes think there's no way I'm doing it right because of the strange angles I have to turn my hands or use the Efile, but I see that I'm not the only one. I definitely want to get the square cuticle bit and try that versus the cone shaped skiver bit I typically use. Great video and a beautiful set of nails! 💖💖💖

This video has helped me sooo much! Thank you Melissa. Love all your videos: the way you describe your thought process on why you prefer specific products/techniques, and the innate attention to detail aka. Perfectionism. I can relate…trying to do ‘good enough’ is soo difficult and is on autopilot. Not bragging…I am sure your clients sincerely appreciate this. I am a amateur and it’s COVID’s fault I started doing gel nails. Your videos just happen to be on my home page and I watched a few of them. I am in the process of changing my products to YN after using some less expensive ‘trial’ products from that large company that delivers stuff magically to our doors. Love your company. @youngnailsinc Жыл бұрын
if you are right handed and you are e-filing your right hand using your left, you switch to reverse depending on which way your right hand is facing. If that makes sense. Since I went back to doing nails on clients after the pandemic.. and we all had to shut down.. I just went back recently . But I’ve done more clear sets with black or white , color any French .even clear with nude ombré than I ever did before.. it’s really popular I’ve noticed. & croc print is also which I don’t like on myself but if they want it I’ll do it. I just won’t do duck shape.. absolutely no..

I love the nails. When will Moody come back? And if not what else is close to Moody
@youngnailsinc4 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, it will not. We don't have any confetti's like that, but you could look through our glitters for the iridescent ones that have a similar glow.

@ thank you for responding. I’ll take a look at YN confetti’s. Take care 💜

I'm curious, as a dominant lefty which way is my Arbour band to run? Towards me or away from me when holding in my left hand. Also do I need to switch the direction of my efile when I'm using my right hand? I'm not formally trained in nails yet always loved having them. So I trained myself through KZbin videos. I find it relaxing doing my own nails and not so relaxing when I go to the nail salon.

When using your left hand, you want to make sure your efile is in Reverse and if you are using your right hand, it should be in Forward. In Reverse, the bit will be turning toward your left hand. You will work across the nail from left to right and the bit will be going in the opposite direction so you will feel a slight friction rather than the bit going in the direction your hand is moving.

Can I have a gel overlay on my natural nails, can I then do a Arylic enhancement on top of my gel polish . In your opinion which is easier to learn and master Gel or Arylic
@youngnailsinc2 жыл бұрын
So are you wanting to put acrylic over a hard gel overlay? or on top of gel polish on the natural nails?
@bnailed60352 жыл бұрын
On top of either fibre gel mostly for practice and to post on my utube channel BNAILED which I have not long started
@youngnailsinc2 жыл бұрын
@@bnailed6035 The fiber gel is an added protective layer, it doesn’t physically strengthen nails. Acrylic and hard gel do the same thing, so there is no need to do both.

Ok il apply my clear Arylic overlay to protect my natural nails so that I don't have to always file complete and start fresh or soaking in acetone I will then apply a peel base onto of my overlay so I can change out my nail sets to be able to film more videos until I am a great efile tech 😀 lol I can file down to a thin layer and change up my sets every 2 to 4 weeks

What is your opinion on using peel base coats

Is hard gel or acrylic easier to use/work with/deal with for a semi beginner? Ive been doing mine for a few months and quite impressed and all of my co-workers thought I went to a salon and got them done (which made me feel good). But would love a comparison type video. .

It really just depends on what you practice. If you learn to use either product properly, they can both be easy to use, but if you don't understand how to maneuver each, you may struggle. We do have a lot of application videos on our KZbin channel, but here's a couple to get you started! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGObhJp4pJqXh6M kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJjNY6yYobClh8k
