WOW! This is brilliant! I just transitioned from Great Clips to a barber shop; although I've been cutting hair for 30+ years, I'm experiencing the precision work and difference in tools needed for that work. I feel like I've escaped my comfort zone and a new world has opened up. I had this type of fade to do yesterday, it took me an hour just for the cut! I was uncertain about pushing the one side of the client's frontline back, but the owner of the shop when I asked him to check the cut did exactly what you said, created a line without cutting in too far. I'm using a Wahl fade clipper, but I've started using my Oster clippers when needed. Thank you, Mr. Falla for this video, it will help.

Thanks for the tutorial. With 3 boys and myself everytime we go for haircuts it's costing just about $100 including tips. And not to mention we're there an average of 6 hrs everytime. I would not recommend new barbers or those of you at home cutting for the first time to even attempt a fade but instead learn how to do an even cut or even a caesar. Eventually try a taper and if you can muster that then attempt a fade. It’s not an easy cut especially if you don’t understand your clients hair. This man is a master of his craft and has cut probably over 10,000 heads. Regardless I know people are going to try it anyway so good luck to those of you.
