+Christopher Tung I understand the blocking motion but i guess i just dont get high enough do i need to jump off toes before i go?
@bobjones76988 жыл бұрын
+Chris Stewart You need to block, and propel yourself up. you have to jump off your toes, and then *quickly* pull your knees to your chest and arms on knees, like if you were rolling in the air. If you're still having trouble, you're either : 1: Not accelerating fast enough 2: Not tucking in fast enough or stiff enough Or 3: Messing up the blocking part. Hope this helps!

don't watch the ground in the beginning. it's gonna throw u down.
@ChristopherTungFlips8 жыл бұрын
This could be relatively subjective! If you throw your head down to see the ground before setting, you'd be correct in saying that it'll send you down. But, if you're simply spotting the ground to help set up for blocking prior to the takeoff, this can help with the overall execution of the flip. However, it is perfectly okay to keep a neutral head position throughout entire movement! Thanks for the tip!

Official Gaming try it on mats eventaly it'll give you confidence!
@connormudie38708 жыл бұрын
hey official gaming use mats or cushions and when I first started I used to act like I was about to do a front flip but then I don't really jump I I just roll once you start to feel more confident start flipping but for support you reach with your arms and push yourself along a little in the air then when your feeling more confident do the same thing without hands don't worry if you land on your bum I only land upright half the time and that is after practice just make sure you have something to stop the landing from being painful like mats or cushions. don't be scared

Great tutorial! In your opinion, how high should a person be able to jump to complete this? I've tried the front flip and always land on my butt. I usually go "loose" and dizzy before attempting the flip because I get scared. Is there anyway to combat the looseness and dizziness?
@ChristopherTungFlips10 жыл бұрын
The front flip is really a combination of height and rotational speed. The higher you go, the slower you need to rotate. The lower you go, the faster you will need to rotate. There isn't really a set jump height per say. So, if your jumps aren't quite as high, practice rotating faster. Eventually, the height will come with practice. :) In order to combat the dizziness, you will just have to get used to rolling around haha. After practicing and doing enough front flips and front rolls, your body will adapt to it and you will no longer feel dizzy after doing just a few of them. In regards to remaining tight, you will have to work on your core strength to fight the forces pulling your body outward. Good luck!

@MyResourceful10 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris =) I can do the flip on a trampoline with just a little jump (about jumping height) will I have a problem doing it on the ground or is it the same? Cheers -edit: oh and what can I do to get over the fear factor of attempting it on the ground?
@ChristopherTungFlips10 жыл бұрын
Hey bud! If it's difficult on the trampoline, it will probably be more difficult on the ground... Make sure you are going straight up when you do it on the trampoline. If you are moving forward during the flip on the tramp, you are going to lose a lot of height on the ground. But, if you can do it successfully without moving forward or backwards too much on the trampoline, then doing it on the ground shouldn't be too difficult. :) In regards to getting over your fear, try using some mats or pads. Also, feel free to ask a friend to help stand nearby just in case. You should be fine though! Good luck!

ok so, about 3/4 of the way through my flip fails, I just end up 'floping' onto the mattress that I'm practicing on. I don't know if my block is wrong, my tuck is too lose, or maybe I just can't land. I think I might be under rotating like he says, but I have no idea, any help???

@ChristopherTungFlips9 жыл бұрын
Ahh, make sure you don't accidentally overwork/injure yourself because that's no fun, haha. It's definitely a combination of both the tuck and the jump. On the jump, make sure you are really blocking and using your toes to get that height (also, don't take too large of a hop before going into the move as this kills momentum). On the tuck, make sure you are tucking with your knees hugged closely to your chest in order create a faster rotation (you can definitely practice tuck jumps). I hope this helps! Good luck!
