I guess the main thing im struggling with is bringing the voice forward. Been using the "buzzyness" that is shown in other guides but when i drop that (to not have it on every sound) the voice slides back to the top of my throat. Any additional thoughts? x:
@paradis07445 ай бұрын
Girl it never is supposed to drop, since it's the throat space. When people talk they aren't changing that or aware that they can, it naturally stays constant. Pitch is what fluctuates to show emotion, resonance stays locked in place

I mean this video did help, its not the first ive watched but it is the first ive actually participated and i did surprise myself, but it still... idk it sounds like a guy trying to sound like a girl idk what aspect. still cis tho
@BellaVRC9 ай бұрын
I’ll admit I’m lucky that I’m starting with a not very deep voice, but most of my femininity in my voice is learned, vocal control and voice impressions, etc. has always come very naturally to me. My point is the desired effect you hear in my voice isn’t due to my naturally not-very-deep pitch, it’s very much a learned skill. Of all the other trans women I’ve met on VRchat who have actually achieved a solid feminine voice, every single one of them started out with a deeper voice than me, some considerably deep voices, the type to have that same worry you’re having. It could be a bit harder for you than someone with a higher pitched voice, but I’m very confident you’re capable of it with enough time and practice. Controlling your voice for me was very much like controlling anything else you’re not used to, like riding a bike. Every kid starts off falling off of it and losing their balance, but some of those same kids who fell off kept trying and now they can effortlessly ride with no hands, because they’re used to the way it feels and know how their balance and everything is supposed to feel to get the desired effect. They know their way around it, so doing it skillfully and with precision has become second nature. Figuring out how to control your voice, working with it, and getting it to do something very close to exactly what you’re imagining in your head is very much a skill that can be learned, I promise you. I’m confident you can do it, watching videos on vocal exercises that help people get used to controlling their voice and having it do exactly what they’re trying to, and videos on learning to sing could very likely help. I tend to just practice singing a lot, and sing certain parts over and over to try to sound as close to the singer as possible, same softness, similar inflections, and trying to hit those same notes in the same key, just literally as close as possible and that’s helped me finding a lot more control over my voice
@SageFettuccine9 ай бұрын
@@BellaVRC Thank you, that helps. 🫂 and i have thought about singing, and that i probably would if i didnt have voice dysphoria, and i heard it affects how flat your voice is but i guess it's doable haha. so again, thanks :)
@Wicked_Knight7 күн бұрын
I can only achieve my best feminine voice when singing...😅😅
@BellaVRC7 күн бұрын
@@Wicked_Knight You’re doing amazing, and singing often, and being fluid and playful with your voice is an amazing way to learn control. the way i really learned decent control was singing songs i liked just form memory, or listening to parts, and then pausing and imitating the pretty parts, and during parts when a singer would do a run/riff through a couple notes, i would sing that part as slow as i needed to, to hit each note kinda accurately, and then speed up. Tightening or opening your throat, positioning the back of your tongue towards the roof of your mouth, etc. are things you can play around with, and try to learn how different throat/mouth shapes, affect the sound. Also vocal weight, or forcefulness is importance to control. Bringing that forcefulness back just a tiny bit to make it softer will help control nasal sounds, vocal fry, and just make it a softer/more feminine sound overall ❤️

you start now because this is not enough info about it all, you might get disappointed when then you try and two weeks pass and not much change. Because there is more thingd but people never really give the practices and they do and how much time to practoce. so start now and you find many things that none even said anywhere. People are horrible at explaining even what they know, But pretty girl is doing a far greater job than most, I know she is pretty for them to come and teach this the easy way.

Give yourself time and play around with your voice, try to make solid constant sounds and then gradually shift your resonance, pitch, weight around. Singing songs you like, especially softer songs, and singing parts slowly until you can reasonably imitate the changes in the notes the singer is singing will help you learn voice control. Vocal control is a skill i’m confident you can build 💜 I believe in you, just be patient and keep playing around with your voice, take high pitch to low pitch and back, take heavy vocal weight to a light breathy sound and back, take sharp/tight/feminine resonance to dull/open/masculine resonance, be fluid with it and don’t give up on yourself please, I promise you can get to where you wanna be 💜

I dont know why, but no matter what I do, how many tutorials I follow they never seem to help much. I still find it hard to control the vocal folds. Like I'm trying to use muscles I have no control over =(. I dont even want a super fem voice either. (Tho i can't even do accents either, so *shrug*) I really despise my voice to the point I feel like I wana slice open my neck and destroy my vocal folds as I'd rather be mute than speak a disgusting voice. The only thing I have managed to do is weirdly realistic cat noises =/.
