Any breathing exercises should be done empty stomach at least 3 hr after food. It’s a thumb rule.

This is SUCH an amazing exercise, I don't understand why it's not more popular. It's great for your back, posture, keeps your organs protected, gives you a great tight tum and is easy to do...You can also do it pretty much anywhere- at work, waiting in line, etc. Been doing this for many years and I'm a huge fan. It's like creating your own muscle corset.

I started doing this yesterday & honestly I don’t feel bloated anymore & I feel like my posture has gotten better already I do it randomly at work or when I get home from work too it’s so easy I feel like I can meditate & do this it’s great !

So I’m willing to give it a try cause I’m insecure about my body and feel like I’m overweight and as people keep reminding me that I am so why not. I don’t actually have a measurement tape rn but I will get one soon so thanks for being patient, I took photos tho to compare results. Day 1 - Found it easy and did it before I slept as I felt very motivated, feeling like all my gas just flew out of my butt. Day 2 - Lower tummy looks like it shrunk cause of bloating or it’s just me. Day 3 - I feel like it’s worked, not doing any particular diet or excersise now but I am taking a detox drink that’s helped a lot with my weight loss (I can give you information about the drink, it has helped me lose around 1kg in 3 days!: I'll be posting it in the replies section so it's not too cluttered.). I can say I’ve lost about 1kg right now doing the vacuum and detox drink for 3 days. Lower Waist - 85cm Upper Waist - 70cm Day 4 - Lost around 6 inches off lower waist and 2cm from upper waist, it's probably because I did this during the night for 22 minutes and i had to take a fat dump once i got up in the morning but yeah, all i can say is that its working. (also guys don't ask why I'm doing it for 22 minutes, I was feeling motivated and forced myself to do it for day 3 and day 4, might continue since i'm seeing quick results!)

So for the detox drink I'm drinking, all you have to do is boil some water, put a tsp of cinammon in it, 2 tsp of honey, 2tsp of lemon juice, green tea, cumin and ginger. After that let the ingredients infuse for one minute and strain the tea into a cup. Drink this tea hot. The green tea is optional but I really suggest it as it boosts your weight loss process and gives you results within like 4 days. This drink is good getting rid of bloating(lemon), getting rid of unwanted fat(cumin, cinnamon) and good for getting rid of unwanted toxins and prevents any diseases related to body fats(imporving immunity).

Am so thankful i found this video today. It reminded me of my teacher who was a national athlete. She taught my running team this when we asked her how did she maintain her flat stomach. I also found this method in a yoga video. Yay! Starting it today 💪🏼

Worth noting: back in the day a lot of body builders did mostly vacuums as their abdominal exercise (Arnold era). If you look at the bodybuilders then vs. bodybuilders now their waists were TINY. I think vacuums are really the most important exercise for getting your waist smaller, because the transverse muscles act like a corset to hold everything in.

yunikage It's not actually about that. Even though vacuums are an awesome exercise and i do it daily, it does not have to do much with the difference between old school vs modern day bodybuilders' waists. In Arnold's time there was no synthetic HGH which is used now. HGH being "the growth hormone" makes everything grow in your body including all of your organs, that's why bodybuilders now have big stomachs, because their intestines are huge from using HGH.

I've had awesome success with it. I've only been trialing it for a couple of weeks, but I've taken 5cm off my waist. Definitely worth a go

This makes your TVA stronger which is your inner most abdominals. Think of it like a corset. So when that is tight it helps you to hold everything in. So ya! Flat stomachs will defo be a result from stomach vacuums. I'm new to them do, but have done a lot of research and have added them to the end of my workouts. They get better with more practice.

I've been trying this for the past 5 hours, and I'm already seeing results! I've actually done more than 20 of these, and now it's actually my breathing pattern now. Breathe in slowly, and then exhale quickly. It's so easy, but also challenging! I've even felt the burning sensation around my abdomen! This is awesome! I'm going to continue this for the rest of the week, while also drinking water to see if it speeds up the process.

I will do this for 7 days along with eating and working out how I usually do :) I will do it for 3x20 seconds in the morning and 3x20 seconds in the evening :) Starting measurement (waist, not sucking in, but not letting my belly poke out): 75 cms Day 1: ✔️ (only did it in the evening cuz I started now) Day 2: ✔️ ✔️ Day 3: ✔️✔️ Day 4: ✔️ ✔️ Day 5: ✔️ ✔️ Day 6:✔️ ✔️

@@ina6642 well, I measured myself yesterday out of curiosity and I was 73 cms, but it can change like 10 cms easily depending on how much I let my belly poke out or how much I suck it in, and because of this I don't really know if it works :/ I'll keep on doing it tho, it mightneed a bit more time

okay I really wanna try this. I'm gonna do an experiment. my birthday is April 19th and I'm gonna do this breathing exercise from today (Apr 8th) till that day and see if i see a difference. not gonna change my diet or work out, just gonna do the breathing. as of now my abdomen is: •76cm/30in - smallest point •79cm/31in - biggest point *_UPDATE_* okay yes, this works. from the 8th until today the 21st--13 days--i did this once a day for about 1 minute, didn't change my shitty diet, didn't exercise, and my waist went down by an inch: •74cm/29in - smallest point •76cm/30in - biggest point i know it would have went down more if i had changed my diet and exercised regularly (which i might start doing tbh) so, do this! it works!

This is a great exercise and the lady's core is nice, but this is only a Partial Stomach Vacuum. After taking a couple breaths or so, breath all your air out and attempt to suck in your belly button to your spine, while holding your breath the whole time. You can either hold that position or perform repetitions, pushing your abs out as hard as you can and pulling them back in as hard for 1 rep. Repeat as many reps as possible until you run out of breath (1 set). You can shoot for 3 sets at a time with 5-10 second rests in between and this can be done several times a day. As you progress, you will be able to suck in farther and get to the point where your abs tuck underneath the ribcage. It is normal for it to hurt a little bit, since your transverse abs are not used to being stretched this much but it is completely safe. If you are lean enough, you might be able to increase your ab definition on the outside and it might reduce your waste size by inches over time because it will tighten your core. You should see results faster from this Full Stomach Vacuum if performed correctly. Shoutout to "The Hungarian Experiment" for teaching others and myself how to do this effective exercise! Check out his channel for a tutorial on the Stomach Vacuum and other interesting fitness videos. Also, I want to give a second shoutout to the man himself for doing these years ago, Mr. Olympia holder, Frank Zane! He is currently 74 years old. ^_^

I have been doing this along with some other stomach stuff. Recently i have lost an 1" from my waist! I am 48 & some people have told me it can't be done later in life but they are wrong!

Hi K's, writing from France. For info my Chiro has given me this same exercise because I have serious back problems. The only difference he says that we should expel throught our nose, it use to be through the mouth but scientists have recently discovered that expelling through the nose was more effectif. In any case great exercise!

Thanks, I was taught this in middle school by a health teacher. She did it from a sitting position. She swore by it and told us she does it daily due to her constant sitting. Unfortunately we all thought she was crazy, despite her showing us her 6 pack. I now know what she intended to tell me then was valid although she did not use the term vacuuming. I was brought here because I was told crunches shorten your hip flexors resulting in bad posture. Side note, you are very beautiful. Keep smiling.

Hey so how long should I do this? Like daily or just every other day? And do I keep doing this exercise for like 5 minutes or so. And also want to say thanks because I did 150 crunches and that probrably nothing but it wore me out and I did a lot of other exercises and this one I think will really help so thankyou.

Is there a way you eliminate the small belly pooch (like you have in the video)? The only time I had a totally flat almost concave stomach that I want is when I was anorexic. I want to be healthy but also have NO ability far at all. I do Yogalign which incorporates the sip and shhhh (vacuum) breath technique, but how do you maintain the sucked in look all the time? Is it possible?
