I have 12 Strict Pull-Ups. Love the warm up activation drills. I am DEFINITELY going to try the last 2 activation drills because I never tried those drills before. I am DEFINITELY going to work in the Scap Pull-Ups into my warm-up. Do you have any thoughts on what I could do to help me get to 13 Strict Pull-Ups unbroken? Thank you for sharing these AWESOME drills.
@patrickoconnell23804 жыл бұрын
it really just takes alot of reps, and working the "negatives" and the "banded pvc pull downs" as well as just accumulating lots and lots of pull-ups !!

I am working on my strict pull-ups and am stronger with a narrower grip than slightly wider than shoulder. Is that normal or something I need to work on as I progress to kipping? I can do 10 strict now at 245 lb body weight but can’t hold that volume on an EMOM.
@Hoehihoh4 жыл бұрын
I personally favour a narrower grip as well and I actually feel like it's ultimately helped my kipping. For me, it makes it easier to go into external shoulder rotation and activate my lats more. I can now do 15 strict pull-ups, 3 strict muscle-ups, and have no issue cycling butterfly pull-ups in workouts with a lot of volume. I think forcing yourself into a grip width you're really not comfortable with shouldn't be necessary and probably isn't helpful.
@jorob8134 жыл бұрын
Probably because your biceps are helping more with a narrower grip. I’ve had the issue doing a high volume of strict pull ups causing some discomfort in my biceps. Widening my grip allows me to feel my lats more. It has helped me personally with kipping and muscle ups to use a wider grip.
