Great video! I used to love this choke but stopped doing it because my finishes were inconsistent. That choking elbow position detail is the puzzle piece I was missing all along.

I had the same problem for years until I starting understanding the importance of elbow positioning! I've got to do a darce choke video soon too. It's all in the elbow too!

Just found your channel, going through all the videos, started out in BJJ a month ago and they are so useful, really like how you explain the concept and then shown rolling footage to see how it works from different positions, thank you for making your videos

Love this, can't wait to try it in class! I only used to do it from the roll under when they were in turtle and never knew about the other options to try it from, the rolling footage is really helpfull in showing me new paths to the move, awesome vid!

Hi again. Same old man whitebelt going through your old videos. I can't tell you how useful these are. I did my first official roll yesterday. I lasted a minute and a half before pooping out due to being so evergreen at this. I did manage to secure a rear naked in that 1.5 minutes before I felt like puking. I also had been doing D'Arce practice and headlock escapes for an hour before. I feel old. Thank you for making these.

Thank you! These are such a blast from the past haha. Once I had made I realized real quick I needed to do something better and different. I'm really grateful I found some formats that work, and took a risk on some pro equipment that paid off!

I don't attempt this often, but I find myself taking opponents into the front head lock position regularly.. with not so many attacks so I tend to go for the back.. I need this baby in my arsenal.. time to get to work, I will drill this tonight.. your attention to detail and the concepts are what makes your teaching so perfect for me.. not over complicating, consistent in the use of concepts of ju jitsu.. love your channel.. I can honestly say that since I started following this channel I really feel like my Ju Jitsu has improved.. I think I have started to imitate your game 😂 OSS

Been struggling to hit this as I tend to make the anaconda grip too early from top turtle position instead of rolling first, great small detail with pulling their arm in with the gable grip, definitely going to work on this one in the gym. Thanks

Good stuff. I like to use the hand of the choking arm to cup the bottom of the tricep just above the elbow to stop that arm from flaring out. I don't find I have much luck with that gable grip. Any thoughts on that?
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think the hand would be enough to stop the flair against someone strong. I would keep practicing the gable grip and really close your forearm down on their arm and should be easy! :)

This is my favorite sub in the game so far. A flying triangle is my goal one day but due to lack of experience and my size makes that pretty impossible at the moment.

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu I've watched videos on "how too" but thank God my rolling partner wanted to try first. 180 lb blue belt basically WWE "power bombed" himself after his hook leg slipped trying it live. Lol Needless to say I wasn't about to try it after that.

In your rolling footage I see you rolling toward opposite side of the demo . Does that mean rolling in either direction is fine based on the situation?

Would you say bringing the choking arm elbow back (just like the RNC finish that you teach) would make this choke tighter and more efficient? Also, I’m having trouble with people getting back to their knees once I roll through. If you had any advice to give on how to prevent that please let me know!!🙏🏼
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu 6 ай бұрын
The roll through honestly sucks imo. It's the worst way to enter the anaconda. And ya that would make it tighter. I have a more recent video with more details!

Hey Jordan I have a problem. Ima very skinny guy and everyone tells me my anacondas are neck cranks. I feel like it’s because I’m bony and have very little muscle on my arms. Even after adjustments they still say it’s a neck crank. Any tips?

Theres very little that competes with a perfectly executed anaconda lol it can literally turn a spectator into a practicinor through sheer style points 😂 explaining these details are imperative. Thank you Soo much for taking the time to do this.
