Kirsty, you should absolutely do live-steaming sessions every month, where you give us all a 3 hour lesson on specific techniques or competition techniques etc. I would live for those! Like if you agree!

Beautiful as always! Thank you so much for your tutorials. About 3 mos ago, after being a nail tech for about a year and a half, I was discouraged because of lack of business and feeling like I wasn't good enough to do nails, and I decided I didn't want to try anymore. So I packed up my stuff and stored it all and decided to go back to medical transcription for a job. Wellll, I started watching your tutorials and it made me miss doing nails so much! You inspired me to go back to being a nail tech, which I really do love! I was hired at a very nice spa this past Friday to do nails. I feel like I've won a prize! Starting tomorrow and so excited to give it another go. Thank you!

How do you do dual forms so you don’t get air bubbles - I did a full set the other day and think they are real pain in the bum!!!
@TallulahFoxxx
@TallulahFoxxx 6 жыл бұрын
charley Pink don’t lay them down horizontally- you’ll trap air ☺️🤓 just like when you put a screen protector on your phone screen, if you lay it down flat right away you trap bubbles! You need to place it almost vertical on the cuticle area, then slowly lower it down smoothly to the tip. This “rolls out” the air and reduces the chance of bubbles. Also, I’ve noticed people getting bubbles if they don’t like their placement, they take it off and reposition (this happens more with acrygel/polygel I find, because acrylic sets too quickly for people to remove it and try again). If you take it off and reposition it without cleaning the excess product off the nail it causes lumps and bubbles. Hopefully that helps ☺️🤓

It actually convinced me to get dual forms. I am not a professional but with your help and guidance I have been able to wear nice enhancements nails. The end result was perfect the 1st time and I used hard gel. I do not like big apex so this is perfect for me.I have them now for 3weeks now and I cannot help admiring the result every time. Again thank you 😘😘😘😘

I just started doing my own acrylic nails a few weeks ago. I used the dual forms one day and I loved it. I've taught myself to do an okay job fill with my dominant hand. But I still use the Dual forms to feel the other hand. It is very easy and cuts out so much other filing work especially for someone like me who just started

I know I'm not Kirsty, but I think you could do an ombré. It would basically be the same as doing it the normal way. I would suggest starting with the free edge, bringing that down then do the cuticle area and blend it up. Just my two cents. Hope it helps.
@strawhat6363
@strawhat6363 6 жыл бұрын
I would start at the cuticle first like. blend it to the middle of the nail then put the white on the tip and blend. just try it out and see if that works. good luck!
@avaerena2927
@avaerena2927 4 жыл бұрын
I found it works best to do a white or other French white base then blend the pink down from the cuticle as you can use brush strokes that lift at the end towards the free edge so easily.

I've done a set on myself with dual forms which I've had for one week now without any problems or breakage thus far (and I am rough on my hands, being a mother of two teenage Staffordshire terriers...) I am so curious to see how they will last to the three week mark. This is just so much easier than trying to sculpt on yourself, I absolutely love how fast and perfect they magically appear! Kirsty you are such an inspiration, I refer back to your videos whenever I try something new. ❤ PS: Mouth Hoover is really called a suction or dental vacuum 😂

I like the idea with the Dual forms and acrylic I've been trying to use the Dual forms and this generic gel I got from China I got the generic I say Loosely because I wanted to at least try it to see if I liked it the slip solution does not work with it it does not move right it does not hold still when you put it on and it's an absolute mess and then minute heat it touches it it turns to liquid and I've had the worst luck so I'm going to try your acrylic idea thank you for a wonderful video as always... your biggest fan

You're a clever lady Kirsty. I actually love the look of these nails as I'm not keen on a big looking apex. Considering you've had them on for 7 weeks and managed to do everything you have must mean the pop its still have enough of an apex built in to cope with everyday life. Btw do you have a removal tutorial with tips and acrylic? If not is it possible to make one for us please?

Got my first set coming in the mail! 👍🏼 very excited to try them out. QUESTION!!... could you use the dual-forms to do layers of acrylic to build up the apex of a nail??
@stefaniegimbel8547
@stefaniegimbel8547 6 жыл бұрын
Nathaniel Collura I don't think so. By layering the acrylic you would create a thick, heavy nail. For a more prominent apex you need to create it with a brush... But just try it - maybe I'm wrong ;) Good luck!
@TallulahFoxxx
@TallulahFoxxx 6 жыл бұрын
If you want a larger apex (and in my experience, dual forms last perfectly fine with the built in apex they already have!) simply use a dual form that is too large for the nail. You can trim away the sides before it sets and that way you get a larger apex. I personally don’t find you need it, and I also hate the look of a prominent apex. Personal preference though ☺️
@ijuhygvf

Kirsty! i was thinking.. before filling the dual form with acrylic, you could place it onto the nail and use a marker to draw out guidelines to where the free edge is, right? :D i mean, it might make it easier so you wouldn't put too much product on there.
@johnnettvinson2285
@johnnettvinson2285 6 жыл бұрын
Liz Zard that’s a great question. Yes you can mark them out. Or you can purchase forms that have the guidelines already provided like your sculpting forms that you use as well.
@Mrsnunyabiznezz
@Mrsnunyabiznezz 6 жыл бұрын
The ones she are using are a knock off version of dual forms. The original ones have the guidelines on them. I have been using the original dual forms for 6 yrs now. She is pressing way too hard on them when applying. You need to allow the product to become matte before applying. The originals are also not flat! They arch just like a dragon lady nail.
@primalmojo9599
@primalmojo9599 6 жыл бұрын
Even easier (and less messy than a marker, cuz it will rub off or run if the acrylic touches it) is to use those stickers that are made for painting your smile line. Put it on the outside of the form and you can see through when applying product to it.

Since your first dual form vid, I’ve tried doing my own a couple of times but I seem to be getting air bubbles problems on application at the cuticle then they lift straightaway. Am I applying acrylic too thin maybe? Xx
@johnnettvinson2285
@johnnettvinson2285 6 жыл бұрын
Suzanne H I struggled with this at first as well. Now I apply a thin layer of acrylic over the whole expanse and length of the nail and firmly press it into place then I come back with the amount of acrylic needed for the now and then turn it over and check to make sure that there’s no air bubbles before I apply it to the nail bed. If I see that there are air bubbles and by pressing down on that area with the belly of my brush it does not remove them. Grab another form and do it again it’s still way quicker than the original way. I absolutely love dual forms. Hope this helps you

I’ve tried dual forms several times and from several places. My issue is that the side walls while they fit my natural nail well as they are supposed to, the extension part of the side walls aren’t straight like they are when I just sculpt them instead! So how could I account for that??? I REALLY love the acrygels and it seems you can’t use them on sculpting forms?? Is that correct?
