I do enjoy returning to this teaching. I am looking for the "OLD SCHOOL DRAFTING MODALITY." I am conducting some research on the way this beautiful craft was done without CAD. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE DRAFT PERSON IN ACTION. Doing the craft. any ideas? Semper Fi Robert

The use of an expensive Alvin Lettering Guide saves time and improves accuracy and spacing of lines. I saw you pushing you pencil into the paper. I was always taught to pull the pencil at an angle away from the paper so the point doesn't dig in to the paper. Not important I guess if you never have that problem.

The Ames isn't used enough to warrant it. Mostly we just need one row of letters. Rows of them are better done on some software and taped onto the sheet. Can't tell on a scanned copy.

I am left handed, I have to ask how you keep your lines even, since I see you are left handed as well. Max.

do you have to use a triangle can you free form writing? And if so how?

If you're very good at free-forming, your letters will look good, but it's easier to make them look good with a straight-edge.
