I’m very excited to knit with the two colors for stripes. I will mark my cakes of yarn because being colorblind, what you are working on in this video looks the same to me. Your description is what tells me there is a difference. I love your explanations. I understand your words and demonstrations so clearly. Your videos are amazing. I knit your vanilla socks for most of the year, 2023. Gave socks for birthday gifts. I’m hooked on socks. Small enough project no problem working on them while being with my daughter or husband in the hospital. I thank daily for my little projects. I want to master your videos, one at a time. Thanks again.

These socks are beautiful! I’d wondered if all three contrast components of the sock could be knit from one 20g mini. You’ve clearly demonstrated how to achieve this. Thank you for another very helpful tutorial.

Thanks for this! I think that you would have enough to safely do a 15 round cuff (adds one more gram to each sock). You could probably get to 20 rounds but it would be cutting it close. That yarn combo is amazing. And I’m super impressed you managed to get this done before your trip! Travel safe and have fun with family.

I need a little xtra details on the heel. If we knit across with our new color instead of starting with our slip knit for then start the purl side first will there be a different number of rows or slip stitches to count our rows. I need 16 slip stitches and 16 pick up stitches. Will I end up after I get my 16 pick up stitches on the front of my work or the back? Will I be on the right side to start my pick ups? My first time changing color 4 set of socks first 3 where same color thought I would do the color change now but most people teach just start color change on slip side first but there is not the nice line like you teach but need a bit more help. hope you understand what I wrote. Thanks Judy

Your videos have been very useful!! Thank you so much! Is it possible to have a contrasting yarn for the heel, the toe and the sole of the foot? I’m trying to figure out how to do this without having to have a bunch of ends to weave in at every row. Maybe I could have the front and the back of the work not connected for the whole foot and then I sew the two pieces together 🤔

Thank you for another very helpful tutorial. Am I right in thinking that if you leave the main colour attached (before the heel flap in contrast colour), when you pick it up again you count the edge of the instep as the beginning of row, as opposed to the middle of the heel? (Therefore doing the decrease stitches in reverse order?) I think I've worked it out(!) but couldn't find your instruction for this. BTW, after following your video for my first 9" circular socks, I have purchased your pattern and I really appreciate your very clear and concise directions. Thank you and well done! Happy New Year too! x

Seems like you could knit 15 rows from the mini?i do like the contract in the yarn. What is your favorite way to knit socks? Just curious. I started out by knitting socks on two needles. I didn’t know what I was doing. So an instructor suggested magic loop on one needle. That is how I have knit my socks until this summer. For camp I did try the DPNs and I felt like a newby sock knitter. The needles got in my way, the stitches slipped off the needles. At least I finished the sock, but very frustrating. I will try this again someday. Ha ha

If you leave the main yarn attached and start picking up stitches at the corner, do you still only knit halfway of the heel flap then place marker to start a new beginning of round? I found this section very rushed and confusing. I hope you can help clear this up for me. Thanks!
@CrazySockLady
@CrazySockLady 3 жыл бұрын
Changing the colors doesn’t change the start of round for how i knit my socks. I always knit them following my vanilla sock patter where the beginning of round shifts to the center of the bottom of the foot for the heel/gusset section. This works best for me and makes it easier to count your gusset stitches to see when you are back down to your original stitch count. If you need a full heel tutorial you can follow any of my vanilla sock tutorial. I go more in depth of the heel process there. This was just to show where to start/stop the contrast colors.
@barbaraschuetz4579
@barbaraschuetz4579 3 жыл бұрын
But, the uncut main color is at the corner, so if you switch to the main color on the heel flag, won’t you have a length of yarn just stretching across the future gusset area? I am also confused and have watched your vanilla sock tutorial and made several pairs of sock. I LOVE your patterns and tutorials but this is confusing me.
@CrazySockLady
@CrazySockLady 3 жыл бұрын
@@barbaraschuetz4579 no, you will not have the yarn stretched across. This is how I do it every time and it works. If you just follow step by step as I show in this video, it works out perfectly.

Am I not figuring the math correctly. It took 7g of this 20 g ball for one sock. That’s 14g for two socks. If 10 rounds is (2g). You have 6g of yarn left why can’t you add another 20 rounds for 4g? Make them the way you usually make them with the 20 round cuffs.
@CrazySockLady
@CrazySockLady 3 жыл бұрын
Everyone’s gauge is different. And I don’t like to cut it too close and run out at the end of the socks. This is just my personal preference of doing this. Please do it the way you prefer. ❤️
@buttermilkbaysoap9416
@buttermilkbaysoap9416 3 жыл бұрын
@@CrazySockLady I can respect that idea, but wouldn’t the leftover 2g of yarn(10 rows) be enough to compensate for anyone’s gauge? It okay. Thankyou for suggesting weighing the yarn. I will try that process. I have a scale that weighs in grams. I definitely don’t want to risk running out on a sock... too much work not to do the math 😉🙂🙋‍♀️
