How to do Diesel Purge Audi A4 B6 (2003) TDI Engine code AVF

How to setup and complete a diesel purge on the AVF TDI Audi engine. Very similar to the MK IV Golf engine which I also did a video for.
Supplies needed are: 1 Can of Liqui Molly Diesel purge, Aprox. 2 meters of clear tubing with an inner diameter of 8mm, 2 x 8mm straight connectors and a inline PAPER filter. See my other video to see what the paper looks like:

Just did this on my a4 1.9 tdi brb 2006 engine tonight.did exact same set up but with a filtron paper filter.filter was literally pure black by the end.i let 1 full litre of liqui moly diesel purge run through her with occasional revving.and as i know my own car well and do my own servicing i can vouch that its made a difference.its much quieter its more responsive on throttle.a slight quiver on idle has gone out of her.im usually very skeptical of liquid treatments but this defo works.another thing i swear by is a jar of zx1 extra lube when doing oil change.

Yes defo use a 'paper' filter on the feed (this is fine on the return as an addition); the change in colour of the paper filter will also indicate what's been filtered.

Mee too my 1.9tdi avb b5.5 passat drives so great and not Smokey but it's worth doing especially after 182,500 miles. Just ordered the hose and 2x PAPER in-line filters to do on my next oil&filter change next week. :)

Nice video. I did a purge on my TT tdi the other month, has a cold misfire issue which his almost completely cleared up. I noticed on your video your bottle ended up very black, a few other videos did this too. Mine was still totally clear. Was your bottle hot by the end?

Good video I'm contemplating trying this on my 05 a4 2.0 tdi bre 16v engine . Has injector cleaner got lubricating properties when it's being used in pure form like this ? (Is there any danger of screwing up the injectors? ) thanks

Can see the BV43 turbo.. Does it has bigger injectors fitted also?

Correct this does have the BV43 Turbo fitted, but no I never got round to altering the injectors

Did the owner notice a differnce, also did you notice a difference with your golf, i just got a fabia 1.9 tdi pd105 and want to do it but it's only done 70k :P

It does seem slightly more responsive on the throttle, and average fuel consumption seems to have decreased by a few MPG

How it's run without the pressure from the pump from tank??? This is a pd engine, it demands pressure in fuel line

The pressure for the injectors in provided by the tandem pump. The tank/lift pump just gets fuel down the lines to the tandem pump.

No specific interval really, I've done mine after getting the car, but I'll probably do it again in 80k miles or so

Hi, you should have ran it through it’s own diesel filter then just changed it afterwards.

True I could have, but it would have then dissolved any dirt in the filter and ran that through the injectors and tandem pump. This method keeps the reintroduction of dirt to a minimum.

@@Lozzy07 No it wouldn't break anything down if it did it wouldn't effect the cleaning process. I've used liqui moly with a filter without a filter, I've filtered it with a clean white rag it make no odds, it cleans the injectors cars run alot better.
