How to do Foundation Paper piecing

Paper piecing is a super fun technique. By using paper to sew on you can make beautiful precise quilt blocks with ease.

thank you for this very helpful video on paper piecing. I had a "light bulb" moment when you show the tea bag paper being folded back and placing the new fabric under. With the pattern reversed you can see if the new piece of fabric will cover the section. Thanks i was having issues with that and now it is all clear. thank very much!!!

Your tips on placing the fabric and pattern for cutting, which side up and down, were so foundational and helpful. I like how you print two patterns so that you can cut the fabric to the sizes of the pieces. I do paper piecing and sometimes cut the fabrics too small. I’m going to try your way now! 😊

Yess this really prevents from cutting pieces too small. I always like to cut my pieces on the bigger side to be sure that they will fit after sewing :)

I loved the tutorial. The best part was cutting each shape out and cutting the fabric a larger version of the shape. Very helpful! I am not familiar with tea paper. I am not sure why you would wash it??? 🤷🏻‍♀️. I am sure there is a good reason.

Great video!!!!! I used regular copy paper but the paper was really a pain to pull out of stitches and some of my stitches came loose. I will try your freezer paper method next. that you have in one of your other videos. Im making pillows and want to line the front piece how would your do that and how do you quilt over all your pieces I'm new to quilting and don't feel comfortable with stitching in the ditch? My pieces are feathers and are small pieces. Do you ever not quilt over them when making small projects.......I've never done free motioned and will not be using batting with the pillows. I would appreciate your view on this. Thx a bunch.

I have a rather silly question I hope you can help me with...when you print the pattern onto freezer paper...do you print it on the dull side (I'm guessing this one) or the shiny side? Foundation paper piecing uses a sewing machine. English paper piecing is all hand sewing. Two totally different techniques.
