I recently found that cheap tracing paper works the best for me. You can run through printer and it tears off easily.

I started paper piecing several months ago and love it, but have hated trying to tweeze the paper out when done....so time consuming and can pull your threads. TEA BAG PAPER... BRILLIANT!!! Can't wait to try it.

Yesterday I got my ordered Teabag paper from your shop. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical how it really will work. First I had to find out how to fix the teabag paper on an usual paper to let my printer doing its work. At the end it worked perfect.And then the miracle began. I made a small 4" pattern with really tiny pieces and it worked so wonderful. I love and do paper piecing since a long time and so often I struggled with ruptured paper, especially with small pieces. This problem is now solved forever. For the future I will use lightweight printer paper as well, but I know what to use, if the pattern is very little. And thank you at all for all your fantastic instructions.

I did my first paper-piecing quilt last Christmas. I just used printer paper because that was all I knew about. Quite like knowing of all the other options - I may need to try tea bag paper! (But I'm going to go watch your freezer paper video now...)

Thank you for this helpful video! I am new at paper-piecing and I just bought some vellum paper to try. I have never heard of using tea bag paper but I think it's a great thing to try because it doesn't have to be torn out. Your videos are so fun to learn from! Keep it up.

have you tried ironing the teabag paper onto the shiny side of the freezer paper. It will adhere to the paper and make it easier to print on the teabag paper. You can reuse the freezer paper after peeling away the printed paper

Yes, great idea! I have tried that in the past. Not sure, why I'm not using that method anymore 😅 I'm not spraying some basting spray on a piece of paper and using that to stick the tea bag paper to.

Use your teabag paper in conjunction with the freezer paper for printing. cut freezer paper to printer size, iron onto teabag paper, place in printer, (no jams) makes sturdy enough to print and then you can remove the freezer paper and use it again on another section of teabag paper for another print.

By now I am still on the calculations for the size. I also want to try to assemble three strips and cut triangles out of them. Six triangles can create some kind of flower. I don't think I can just buy teabag paper in my country. And the fact that I have to buy it in bulk, before I try... I just like using the paper that I also use for transeffing my clothing patterns. Its like a bit stiffer tissue paper. There is also a spray- on glue that can be reactivated by iron, so it is kinda like freezer paper if I want to. And it rips so easily.

love your videos and the project you make as a dutch person but living in uk i really liked you blog seeing a bit of home i used nappy liners before it's very much like teabag paper you can leave it in quilt it's cheap i think i bought them for a pound for 100 but that was years back from healthfood shop they properly 2/3 of a4 keep up good work and videos

Parchment paper. I cut it to the appropriate size then draw the design on each piece. It tears quite easily.

My favorite paper to use is news print paper.. It will run through the printer without jamming.

Could you please tell me what pattern you're using for the penguins? And what pattern you used for the quilt you held up? If those are in your book you'll have another order on your hands. The owl is just too cute! And I adore penguins. I've not done FPP yet, but I'm so curious to try. The tea bag paper sounds like it might behave similarly to using the lightest weight of interfacing. I've been thinking about trying that and making a summer weight quilt. It's always so fun to watch what you create. Thank you for sharing with us. 💜

I didn't realize there were so many patterns all together. I'll have to save up a little so I can buy the book. 😃 I blew up the photo and didn't realize what some of the blocks were and how amazingly cute they all are! 😍 Could I put in a request for another little animal to add? Maybe you've already done it and I just missed it, but I think a frog that had really big eyes like the owl would just be cuteness overload. Then maybe a lilypad with a lotus flower on it, a dragonfly block, the fish blocks, and maybe some cat tails (a type of plant that tends to grow around ponds here). I can see it in my head and it's adorable, but I don't have the drawing or technical skills to make the patterns like you do. That's not really a "little request". 😳 Just an idea of something else you could do, but you don't seem to lack ideas. I don't know how you test your patterns, but if you ever need anyone in the US to try them who is pretty good at sewing, but new to paper piecing I would love to test them. I'd be happy to test any, not just the paper piecing ones. Please keep up the wonderful videos and patterns. I often turn one of your videos on just to listen to your voice (you always sound so positive). 🙂 Thank you for the many smiles and the nudge I've needed to get back to some of the sewing projects that I walked away from. 💜
