I’ve tried OMAD a few times and I find that the biggest challenge is how food plays such a big role in social gatherings. It’s always someone’s birthday, family comes over for dinner late after my eating window, etc. I wish more people understood that intermittent fasting is a healthy lifestyle, because I have so many people thinking that I’ve developed an eating disorder.

Dr. Berg, I want to start off by saying thank you for everything. I use to weight 300 pounds. Now, I weight 173. I was able to lose 127 pounds in 9 months by doing intermittent fasting and eating the foods that Dr. Berg recommended in his videos. Also, I stayed away from foods that Dr.Berg recommend to not eat. I feel way much better. Since I lost 127 pounds, I don’t get hungry as often and don’t get fatigue as I use too. To anyone watching and listening, if I can do it, so can you. Just listen and take note to everything Dr. Berg is saying. Go back and watch all of his latest videos. That will help a great deal.

theres no sugar in pure cocoa a.k.a dark chocolate, its also the healthiest snack because of their content of good fats and hdl cholesterol. make it urself or buy it, but if u buy it, they are not always 0% added sugar. so look at like 90 to 99% pure cocoa on the label and look at the nutritions fact and ingredients. i just cant eat avocado, so i switch to pure cocoa instead.

I'm glad to hear that. If you can find a way to do the 30min of exercise a couple hours before you end your fast your results will be even more incredible. Also try not to eat for a couple hours after you get done exercising. This will allow your body to use the fuel it has stored (fat), instead of what you are eating. This could be achieved by exercising in the morning instead of eating and then adjusting your first meal to an early lunch and your second meal to an afternoon dinner, Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Intermittent Fasting Pros: cheap, easy, extra time, live longer, smarter, better mood, less diseases Cons: buy new clothes, too much time on hands Stage 1: 3 meals without snacking in between Stage 2: 2 meals without snacking in between Stage 3: 2 meals with 6 hour eating window Stage 4: 1 meal a day without snacking Stage 5: prolonged fasting (2, 3, or 5 days) Fasting (both IF and prolonged) has been an absolute game changer for me. Have regularly been doing it for 8 years now, and eventually led me to the door of the keto world. Had I not known fasting and keto, I likely would've been a diabetic by now.

I drink half a liter warm water mixed with 6 cloves garlic, 4 inches ginger ( all grated) one lemon juice, peels are cut into small pieces and two tablespoons natural honey, mix it properly and drink in an empty stomach, I have been drinking it for over 6 months, only one meal per day, I drink more water and fruits. Iam no longer eating processed foods, drinks, no sugar, red meat, and salt only half teaspoon per day. Body weight dropped from 98 kgs to 84, all body health challenges are gone. My Mother has colorectal cancer. It was a stage 2 as of last year. She couldn’t complete conventional medicine first round and they wanted her to try again, she refused. They wouldn’t do surgery after wasting a year! They refused to treat her completely except for the part of reminding her to load up on milkshakes and candy. You know, to keep her weight on!?!? 🙄 Chemo was so harsh after 2 weeks they stopped it. She was also doing radiation at the same time 5 days a week and completed 23 treatments out of 28. It put her in hospital with toxicity and I almost lost her. Cancer is still present and she has a huge tumor still. This is all we have left to try! I’m desperate to help her get through this. Thank you Dr. Berg for shining light on healing health with diet, fasting and how to help starve cancer. I’ve been watching numerous videos to help me along. We’re also scheduling with holistic oncologist and complete plant base foods for awhile. God bless you and family.

I learned about IF about 3 months ago and since then, have lost 30 pounds. No, it's not a large amount of weight loss, but for DECADES, no matter how much exercise I did, I could never lose more than 5 pounds. Now, I'm 47 and weigh the same as I did at the age of 16 and wear the same size clothes I haven't been able to fit into for at least 25 years. Furthermore, my blood pressure is lower than it has been for quite awhile, my quality of sleep is better and I have very little inflammation. IF works!

I’ve been intermittent fasting for almost 2 years now. There have been episodes where I’ve gone off the rails but I always get back on. I no longer have to plan when I’m going to eat or what I’m going to eat because the process has become a lifestyle and part of how I conduct my life. I use a four hour window a day, usually between 12 and 4 PM during which I eat. I try to maintain healthy food choices and select foods from many different food groups. The benefits have Being incredible. I no longer have serious issues with blood sugars, blood pressure and I no longer suffer with aches and pains that almost crippled me on a daily basis. My weight loss from the beginning of my fasting, has been over 40 pounds. I do have other serious health issues that fasting doesn’t seem to have helped with, however, because I feel so much better, it’s much easier to deal with at all.

I went from 148 starting in fall 2022 and today I’m 116. I’m 38 years old and I’m 5’1. For my height and age, I was considered overweight prior to starting my journey. I will add that I had some unexpected health issues that prevents my small intestine from breaking down most sugars and starch. I just happen to be lactose intolerant and very sensitive to gluten as well. On one hand it helps because I’m so restricted on what I can eat and the downside is being so restricted. It is often overwhelming when I try to go out and eat with friends.

Started on a keto diet back in December and the first two months the weight just flew off, but then it really slowed to a crawl even though I also started working out. I was still losing about 5 kilos a month and stuck with the keto, but felt that there must be something else; that my body was still holding back. Found your videos and decided to try intermittent fasting and MY GOD am I back on track! Right now am on 20:4 and easily maintaining the schedule. I did have to incorporate a bit more carbs (up to 50g a day) on the advice of my doctor because I was getting constant breakouts on my skin and yet am still shedding the weight nicely. Am down from 159kg to 116kg and going strong. You're a life-saver! :D

I have quit drinking over a month ago and am fasting for health. My liver and spleen are painful and swollen and I can't tolerate anything hardly. I am taking supplements for my liver, vitamins, walking, drinking black coffee and herbal teas during the day, and boiled lemon, ginger, and garlic water in the morning (I keep a batch in my fridge), fermenting foods and doing the one meal a day eating very scant amounts of medicinal foods good for liver health, diabetes, and overall health (which are usually the same foods). I have worked my way to this point over the last month and been doing this type of fasting for the last three days and today (day 4) was the first noticable REDUCTION in my liver size!!!!!

I've been doing intermittent fasting for 6+ years now without knowing it. I eat once a day, a big hearty meal with veggies meat and carbs. The reason is I'm not a breakfast person, I'm never hungry in the morning. Also, I could never decide what to eat for lunch without cooking a full blown meal, when I did I wouldn't be hungry for supper. I also didn't grow up snacking, culturally we don't snack unless its fruit or veggies. Store bought snacks were too expensive growing up. This all led me eating supper only. I'm always certain of what I want to cook for supper so it's the meal time I pay more attention too. I also drink fermented milk everyday, it's my favourite 😋

@SpamMouse 2 жыл бұрын
@@runig549 first you need to be fully keto adapted, you will not feel the desire to eat after a 24 hours fasting. When you feel ready just push through that desire to eat for another 24 hours. When you feel light headed have a glass of water with a little salt and a multivitamin pill. When it gets tough and you feel you might give-up "feast" on a bullet-proof coffee. Read up on re-feeding-syndrome before you do your first long fast. Have in mind your first post-fast meal, meat protein in hot water is what I use. PS having something meaningful to do and focus on is a great help when you need to think about something else but food.

For those who have done this or are thinking let me tell you, I'm on my 15th month and it's worked great. I'm totally amazed that everything Dr Berg said in this video was spot on my experience, complete with having to buy multiple new jeans for 3 different waist sizes. I plateaued off at month 9 after shedding 52 pounds and like some I have had blood work performed every 6 months plus some additional. There is however one thing he did not mention and I just lately found out about. I was on the 5th day of a fast when I did my last blood work and the numbers are remarkable however, I was rated "PRE-DIABETIC". This was from a heart screening service outside of my normal physicians appointments. The reason was a 113 glucose reading. I later discovered fasting produces a ton of growth hormone which is an antagonist of insulin so higher glucose numbers are common during this time. All other glucose readings have been in the 70's and 80's off overnight fasts. Just my 2 cents.

I'm so glad I found this channel to change my entire outlook on eating and daily habits. I just wanted to mention my experience with intermittent and prolonged fasting. Firstly, I am prone to getting the gout. I didn't research your videos enough, as you've mentioned in them. That IF can increase the uric acid levels. My uric acid levels almost doubled, the normal levels. After doing 6mths of IF/PF and Keto. I got some major issues with my foot and ankle. To the point where I was unable to walk or stand on it. I eventually watched your videos on the gout and uric acid levels. My foot is getting better. But it's taken me 6-8wks for this to happen. I almost quit the Keto way of eating. But I had already lost major weight. With the right research and your videos, it's getting better slowly but surely. Your videos and YT channel have saved my life. Thank you so much... Life is much better for me now. Many thanks from NZ 💯❤️

I’ve switched to whole foods and cooking at home almost 100%. I also drink kombucha daily when I do eat. I’ve noted things like ending the eating with a fat source and ending eating earlier. Additionally, another podcast I listened to about fasting said that drinking lemon water while eating keeps the glucose lower, so I may try that as well. I’ll report back with my results. Update: I realized that I was trying to change things before I could even remain consistent, so I changed my goal to fasting every day in December for a minimum of 14 hours to get my confidence in my ability to fast where it needs to be. The other factors are the same for the most part. These are my exact December goals: 32 oz of water a day Vitamins daily 14:10 10 am - 8 pm 15 minutes of intentional activity of any kind 3x a week (12 workouts) Vegetable(s) every day Gratitude journal & prayer daily

@@RichieParamotorBrummie Still at it. In December, I hit the goals I put at the bottom of my updated comment. Only missed some of them a handful of times. Every day of December, I fasted at least 14 hours. Usually avg 15. Now, my goal for January is a minimum 16:8 fast. Because I was perfect in December with my fasting consistency, my body adjusted quickly to eating less. My mind wanted to continue eating, but my body said “nope,” and literally within minutes I started doing OMAD. So, I usually fast an avg of 19-20 hours a day weekly. Some days, I do just 16, some days I’ll do 26. My weight is scattered because my January goal has also been to exercise daily. When exercising, the body retains water to repair muscle tears (at least I think this is how it was explained to me), so my scale weight fluctuates like 5 pounds every time I workout. I can tell I’m losing fat though because my pants are fitting looser. I think eventually, the fat loss will overtake the water weight and the scale will start dropping more quickly. I have a morning window. I usually eat between 10 am and 1 pm. One meal (not necessarily one plate). I find that this way, I have energy for my day and can put off eating until it’s time to eat again. It’s pretty painless for me. If I want more, I’ll do a longer window day with 2 meals. The scale usually drops following one of those days.

This is what I want to try first. Before any specific diet. I'd love to make it to Keto and Intermittent fasting. But I'd heard somewhere else that you CAN do the fasting alone and have great results. So this is what I want to try first. My husband and I together actually. This video came at a perfect time!

3 years ago I lost 50 pounds in 6 months with IMF + keto. I kept it off for almost a year until I became pregnant. After having my daughter my food choices just went super down hill and fast. She is now 1.5 and I’m FINALLY fasting again. I’m going to try not to jinx myself but I have really missed the feeling of being hungry and breaking my fasts with good food. Thank you for all of the super informative videos. You help people like myself get back on track once they’ve lost direction.

I love how Dr Berg described food having so much power when we revolve our life around it and avoiding it we are taking back our power and self control …. When I heard this for the first time it open my eyes and I was able to see the madness behind it specially when you are cooking 3 times a day , it takes up so much time not to mention the dishes that need to be washed . I love the whole OMAD and fasting lifestyle, not only have I been losing weight but I have more time in my hands and more energy plus I feel and look better. Thank you Dr Berg you are much appreciated 💕💕💕

10 months ago I went keto and that made me feel pretty good. Two months ago I went dairy carnivore and recently went to OMAD and this has launched me into an amazing place. I highly recommend this everyone. BUT..... the one food I eat at around 18 hours is a few sardines and three or four anchovy filets. I do this for the Omega 3 spike. The amount of fish I'm eat is way under two ounces and it doesn't seem to affect the OMAD fast.

I started calorie counting and intermittent fasting a week ago. I am seriously overweight and need to drop between 50 and 60 kgs in order to get to a healthy weight. I will be going overseas in 3.5 months and hope to drop a decent amount of weight before then so that I can sit comfortably in the airplane seats. I really enjoy this channel. It is really helpful.

This works. I've been doing a very similar routine to the omad talked about here. The results are incredible. I use it to maintain my weight in a certain range. I'm not overweight but I can be if I don't pay attention. I make a point of putting in about a 30 hour fast every other week. This keeps me below 200 pounds at 6' 2" and 48 years old. I've convinced others to try it as well and most have had similar results. It is difficult though. If you have a lack of willpower... It's going to be tough.
