I waited to comment and rate until I'd tried this for a while. I did this every day for several weeks (take your time folks!!) and today for the first time in my life I got into Padmasana. I couldn't hold it for very long but I DID IT! This video DOES teach useful stretching, this DOES work. Take your time, Take it slow. Honor your body and don't over push.

The before / after effect is true ! Padmasana is one of my goal. So I will keep practicing those stretches. Thank you for sharing.

Can't wait to get down and try this! I remember as a child being able to get into lotus no problem, mainly as a way to show off. 30 years later and my being able to sit cross legged is enough to impress some. I love the idea of sitting on the floor as a way to spur progress; it seems so obvious!
@ThisYogaLife-ak3 жыл бұрын
Ah yes how our flexibility changes over the years! It was my teacher in India that would tell us to sit on the floor as we were waiting for our class to begin, he would say to us "sit on the floor to open your hips!". So obvious yet somehow not obvious enough!

Some of us beginners are coming to Yoga from other Sports or even traumatic situations where knee damage is already a major factor! The knowledge that U have shared here is very helpful in the mitigation of further damage likely to be self imposed by the novice unknowingly! Thank U, again! 🧘🥋🥷🤩🙏

It really helps. Before I can do the pose soso on one side, and not at all with the other leg up. After, I can do it a little bit easier on my "good side", and on the "bad side" it becomes possible, still horrible, but possible! ☺ And the best part is, hip flexibility is so important in many asanas, so this not only helps with padmasana but many others as well.

Is this the best pose overall for meditation? 🌳🌳🌳
@ThisYogaLife-ak3 жыл бұрын
This is definitely one meditation pose! Here's a little more information: "Best known in the Buddhist and Hindu traditions are the lotus and kneeling positions; other options include sitting on a chair, with the spine upright."

Hi Aleksia! Hope you are doing well. Could you tell me what is the opposite position of lotus? For example if we sit too long in a lotus position, what would reverse the muscles in neutral? Hope you understand what i mean 🙂 Bye Marko

Hi Marko! Sorry for late reply! The simplest thing to do would be to straighten the legs and help the blood flow again :-)

if we sit in ardha padmasana while meditating , is it posible to gradually come to padmasana after some meditating in ardha padmasana?
@ThisYogaLife-ak2 жыл бұрын
(sorry for late reply) interesting question! It really depends on your hip flexibility! However, the more we sit on the floor in any position, the more we help you open up the hips. Hope that helps!

это не полный лотус, ваше левое колено в воздухе, а должно быть на полу upd: кажется, правое тоже
@ThisYogaLife-ak4 ай бұрын
@@senzar_reiki_healer it could be argued that full lotus involves both feet up. Regarding the knee, perhaps my left hip needs a little more opening. However, even if it is slightly above the floor, it is still considered full lotus.
