This glaze style looks amazing on large flared bowls or small ones. You'll need to play with your own design and application to get the results you're looking for but this is my take on it.
I like to use 3 different base colors, here I'm using Mayco Stroke & Coat and a cheap 12 Cc syringe from the farm store to apply. I apply in heavy dots that I let a run a bit and then thick ribbons or circles. Make sure you let the inside dry before applying to top glaze! I would not do this much on the outside as this combination likes to run!
For the top glaze I used Amaco Iron Luster that I thin with some water to make it pourable. I use a brush to apply 3 coats to the outside then pour into the bowl and swirl around to cover the inside. I use a brush to carefully make sure the top and rim are covered.
Update: l the color spots are from Mayco Stroke & Coat. I used sun-kissed sc-6, purple-licious sc-71, speckled hot tamale sp-274, and tuxedo sc-15.
These are fired to cone 6 using Coyotes slow cool program. I find the slow cool really helps develop the colors and reduces pinholes.
