I usually use the actual polygons that make the hump on the road. There’s a line in the road where a new texture starts and that line is the limit for when you can jump to do the normal method.

The spear doesn't have to hop before the wheelie method. Just shroom and wheelie at the crest of the hill.

Awesome vid man! I noticed just one thing that might be a discrepancy: around 2:50 you say for the wheelie method to hop, hold back, then wheelie, then shroom. But the graphic on screen has the order as hop -> hold back -> shroom -> wheelie. In the clip it kinda looks like he shrooms then wheelies as the graphic says, but I wasn't sure which one was the right order.

Good observation! The wheelie and shroom are done at the same time, which is why I think you're getting confused. You see, the shroom is what gets you off the air, but for the short amount of time you're touching the ground you want to input a wheelie, missing the wheelie input results in this 3:11

in about 150+ trials, I managed to do only three wheelie jump, I don't know if wheeling with the nunchuck controller is harder but it's really damn hard to wheelie as soon as you land, most of the time even if I move a lot my controller the bike just stay right or I get a no wheelie wheelie moon jump, any advice please ?

I’ve noticed that this doesn’t seam to work for me, to do the boost before the pillars, then hop right after them, and the bike stays glued to the road. Edit: I noticed that the timing is easier if you watch the bike instead. First, look for the posts, then boost before you pass them, then watch your bike. As soon as you start going up the hill, hit the hop button. My problem was that I was hopping right after the posts, but before the hill.

I somehow did this shroomless by using a star. I happen to play with a wii wheel due to lack of other controllers and I'm a kart nostalgic, so during a race in RR I pressed the hop button (reminder that the hop and drift buttons are the same in the wheel) while being in a star before time, so I began to drift to the right and immediately pressed the hop button again noticing my mistake, which launched my kart straight into the air while drifting, so the slightly rotated hitbox of the drift barely managed to scrape by the floor with the extra speed provided by the star. Of course when I finally landed I ended up driving waaaaay to the left due to the drift and fell off. If anyone is willing to attempt to replicate this, I used yoshi and the wild wing. By the way, air drifting with karts produces messes up with the game's physics, so I'd attempt to enter ramps and boost panels while drifting if you wanna have a good time.
