I wish I got the gen 4 with an attachment. I have issues with the wireless CarPlay. I recently received a replacement from you guys and it works for about 2 weeks but there’s issues with the device connecting. It goes from “waiting” in zlink then connects when it wants to and when it does show the apple logo and says “connecting” it disconnects and goes back to waiting.

I just bought a Linkswell Gen IV for my Super Duty 2017, I can't connect the CarPlay, I tried it with a USB cable that is not original, at no time did it give me the CarPlay option, do I have to use the original apple cable to connect?

So make sure it’s the USB marked PhoneLink and make sure the phone cord is a data cord and not a cheap charge only cord.

I did this a while ago on my Gen5 and I'm a bit disappointed I can't use my truck WiFi hotspot for iPhone data. However, that's not a problem as I have unlimited data and can still use my truck WiFi hotspot on the Gen 5 for KZbin, like watching LinksWell (but NEVER when I drive ;) ) It seems to connect more quickly to to the iPhone than the wired connection. Though, when I turn On WiFi to watch a great LinksWell video, it does take a bit of time to reconnect to the iPhone afterward. Seems the fix is to go back into settings and turn off WiFi on the Gen 5 when I'm done to reconnect the iPhone. Now I know why WiFi is always turned off on the Gen 5 even though I always set it to turn on. Mystery solved, but I'm good with it until an update is released to fix this.

Not if you want to do wireless CarPlay. If you want to plug in and do wired then it can do but. But wireless, like I explain in the video. Both require control of the chip, but only one can control it at a time. So you can not do both.

@@winstonhall2994 for a standard install yes. Comes with everything needed. But if your truck has some of the upgraded features you need to purchase specific parts to retain or adapt. - If you have B&O you will need to purchase the B&O adapter. - If you have the touch screen controlled 360 camera you will need the 360 retention module.

@@winstonhall2994 heated seats are retained with the standard radio. The B&O is Fords factory amplified system. If you don’t have a B&O badge on your center channel speaker then you don’t have it.

I have the gen 5 radio. I went into Bluetooth with Wi-Fi turned off and found the radio on my phone. I clicked on the radio on my phone which automatically connected without having to put the PIN code in. The issue is zlink never opened up so is just says waiting on the zlink app and nothing happens.

Just got my gen 5 installed, i managed to connect it to wireless apple carplay but for some reason the music app keeps on doing pause/play/pause/play.. idk whats wrong with it.

Is it a Dodge Ram with no steering wheel controls? If yes. That is the issue it’s a special CanBus. There is like a 2% of trucks have this code. And it’s the Rams with no steering wheel controls. No. So Apple CarPlay is Apples app built into the iPhone. Apple decides what apps you can access and how you can access them. CarPlay is a way for you to use apps like messaging, calls, music, and navigation apps in a safe driving manner. Watching TV through it would be the complete opposite that Apple is trying to do with CarPlay.

@@zerocool4life not in CarPlay they won’t. There are devices you can mirror your iPhone. Mirroring and CarPlay are different. With our radios being tablets themselves you can just install the app you want to watch to the radio itself and run the app on the radio. Only apps you can’t do that with are Apple only apps.

I have an audio delay when it’s connected to wireless car play specially when I watching a video on my phone or use IG or Facebook . Second when im using car play for navigation I can’t listen to SiriusXM radio … is this fixable ?

Bluetooth will always have an audio delay. So if you watch it on your phone and listen to it on the radio it will always have a delay. To fix that watch it on the radio. SiriusXM is an audio app as is CarPlay. So like your phone only one audio app can be active at a time. So to do Sirius and navigation you would need to use the navigation on the radio and not in CarPlay. Like your phone you can listen to Spotify while controlling Pandora. The radio PhoneLink and Sirius are both audio apps. So only one can be live at a time.

@@MrSkho4132 no. You need to understand the tech you are using. Your phone can not have 2 active audio or video apps open at the same time. This is the same for our radios. For our radios because we give you the ability to download apps, stream video, run OBD devices etc. the tech needed to do that has its limitations. We do all the things no other radio allows you to do. With that tech comes limitations on other things. You can do navigation and SiriusXM. Just not through CarPlay. Run Navigation on the radio itself and you can do both no problem.

@@MrSkho4132 I don’t understand what the video is for. No one is saying that an OEM radio can’t do that. I am explaining that the tech we use, that allows you things like a web browser, Google Play Store app downloads, video streaming and so on. It adds all these features but due to the tech that adds these features, it has a short side that isn’t able to have to live audio sources on at one time. We can do a ton of things your factory radio can’t and it can do XM and CarPlay at the same time. Thats I just the way it is. We do not sell direct retail, we sell to dealers. @@crispyc31 they would have to contact Phoenix Android. Their radios are different from ours. We use different components in building our radios. So I couldn’t say why it’s doing what it is. Could be their cheap Bluetooth chips, or a WiFi chip issue, could be processor or could be base line firmware problem….. Maybe the app itself. With it not being our radio I can’t say.

What Gen radio is it? If it’s a Gen 4 wireless will not work. Also Android doesn’t do CarPlay they do Android Auto. I have a different video show Android Auto steps.

I have a gen 6 for the 4th gen ram and CarPlay works and randomly disconnects all the time. This thing has been very glitchy since I’ve owned it, pretty dissapointing for a $1,600 radio

Have you run the latest updates? And does the wireless disconnect in the same physical locations. Wireless CarPlay is having a lot of issues (with every radio) with WiFi interference making it disconnect.

Download KZbin to the radio. CarPlay is Apples program that allows access to the apps they allow to use safely while driving. Apps like KZbin you need to install to the radio itself.

So mirroring actually Apple locked most of those apps unless you do HDMI. If you have a Gen 5S or Gen 5H you can add our HDMI input. You can also watch our video on adding APK Pure to install apps like Disney Plus and others.

@@LinksWellIncHey boss. So I had the install shop put in rca plugs and I bought a rca to hdmi like you said and the Apple usb-c adapter for my phone. I tried the rca button on the unit and nothing. I tried the hdmi button and again nothing is showing from my phone to the unit. Then I zlink and I got sound but no picture. Am I doing something wrong as far as mirroring from a iPhone 15 pro max. I pushed the screen mirroring button but it looked like it was thinking. Also why do I lose internet when I have my hotspot on in certain areas while I’m driving. It works from my apartment to 711 to get coffee but once I get back in it doesn’t catch any Wi-Fi.

@@bluray76 so lots of questions here. So you have an Apple cord to HDMI. And then HDMI to RCA all plugged in. And when you select “Aux” you don’t see anything? It could be an adapter. Any way you try using a different monitor to be sure the adopters are working correctly? ZLYNK will not mirror. ZLYNK is only for CarPlay. If you are using your Apple for the hotspot you have to tell the phone it’s ok everytime. If you are doing wireless CarPlay it takes over the radios WiFi so you can not do both at the same time.
