When I was watching slow mo, I noticed that you pop a notable distance away from the ledge. I was wondering if you pop this trick further away than something like bs 5050? I’m still practicing and trying to jam the tail into the curb. Hope one day I can land this crowd pleaser. Thank you for putting out such great tutorials!
@toms_tutorials9 ай бұрын
You do pop a little further away from the ledge for this in comparison to 5050’s. That way your heel doesn’t stick to the top of the ledge and you’re not too far up on top of it. For 5050’s I get pretty close to it before I pop.

Great tutorials, Tom, and great to see your knee back in action! Any interest in doing a fs360 shuv tutorial? Not a lot of them out there, nice gap in the market...

Thank you for the kind words. 👊 I've actually had my struggles with this trick. I can do them but not as consistently as I'd like. Laser flips are easier for me because it always wants to flip. It honestly would be great to learn and teach though!

Hey Tom I’m trying to get more of a stable landing I’m 6’2 I have a 8.0 would you recommend a bigger board ?
@P_i_F_e_N_n8 ай бұрын
nice tutorial Tom. I've been struggeling for years for this one. I can land on the tail pretty easely, but when I start sliding I always lose balance and overslide. I got hurt pretty bad the last time ahah. I know you gotta use the arms, but anything else to keep that balance ?? Greetings from France

Been trying really hard to learn these (I tend to either miss them completely by hitting the edge of the ledge, get into a BS Suski, get the tail on barely & just jump off or accidentally flip them), I learned fakie BS tails first, I thought it would help me learn to slide these easy (which it did, I got them on lock but it’s getting into regular BS tails is the very hard struggle for me). I notice when I get into fakie backtails, my front foot & shoulders are controlling where the board goes (my back foot really just snaps it & gets back on when I land on the ledge), when doing regular back tails, are you controlling the boards motion with your front or back foot?
@toms_tutorials2 ай бұрын
I'd say the main thing I focus on is controlling my back foot and slamming it into the tailslide/onto the ledge. It feels like I'm scooping my tail in the air before I lock into it, and most of my weight is on my back foot which helps me push through the slide. Hope that helps!

Biggest tip to learn this trick is wax the ledge more than you have ever waxed a ledge.you ain't gonna learn this trick unless the ledge is scary waxed promise
