@Ryan Kirk I have a feeling, based on some Ark of Omen, free gear upgrades, and a few other things, the next edition may become a bit more like Age of Sigmar. While list building is simpler in that game, it's not an easier game over all. It just shifts more of your brain power to other tactical areas, less to remember but more possibilities to consider and contemplate. It won't be the end of the world if they move more that direction

I would bet they’ll eliminate the fight phases stacking and just keep the fight first. Those models attack and deal their damage, and then everything else

Hiya! Great video! I think you may have made an error on the order of the fight last category. “3. Players alternate selecting eligible ‘fights last’ units to fight with, one at a time, starting with the player whose turn is taking place.” Unless this has been faq since? Cheers!

Something that didn't seem to get mentioned is that you don't need to end within engagement range when doing a Heroic Intervention move, you only need to end closer.

Always super healthy and I have a random and hopefully shared request. Can you guys do a full overview of Boarding actions in its entirety? We're aware the rules are all there in AoO: Abaddon..But it's been OoS for over a month now everywhere. My friends and I really want to actually play it. I have AoO: Angron but its just an expansion and theres literally only one listen of Abaddon on Ebay at 120$!! Can't even find a PDF copy of it anywhere! Plenty of people are playing it but very few people are teaching it or has the rules display as well as you guys do it.

It's a rare interaction but there is a mistake here: You start with the activating player on the fight last step *not* the inactive player

You are incorrect at 6:36, players fighting last alternate the same as those fighting first, starting with the active player, as stated on PG 361-362

Easiest way to play the charge phase is not to. Tau and Guard have like 2 units each each that might survive a turn of combat lol

Where is it stated in the rules that the person whose turn is taking place has first activation during fight first? I am only finding the rule that states the person whose turn is not taking place activates first and chargers have fight first.

The fights first - fights normally - fights last chain is probably the worst explained rule in the game. You basically have to ignore what the core rulebook says, and refer to the designers notes for the intent.

Sorry to sound ignorant here, but if you are 3 inches away and roll just 2, aren't you then 1 inch a way and officially in engagement range? Or is your chart assuming you are 3 inches away from engagement range. I am always confused by this.

Under normal circumstances yes. If you come out of deep strike you are considered to be 9.1" away. Because 9 is too close .

So when does heroic intervention fight? I thought they would go first. If I get charged then heroic intervene with a character they don't get to fight first?

They fight normally aka after all units with "fight first" for exammple the units that charged, starting with the player NOT taking the turn (you in this example)
