MS seems to always make changes to how you install Windows. So many "clicks" just to place the program onto your system. One has to be mindful of what they click on as to ACCEPT or DENY privileges. Good video Brian. Always a good show you put on.

Thanx for the video. From my experience on getting the drivers before you start is in the case with a lot of laptops there are multiple drivers for the same laptop depending on the chipset used at the time of manufacture. . Sometimes I have to download multiple ones before I find one that works. Had this problem with HP and Toshiba PCs.

Now that you have Windows 10 installed, let us do a dual boot system. With virtualization all popular these days, dual booting Windows or MacOS for that matter, has become less popular. However, having Windows run on bare metal has its advantages in terms of speed. I always have my primary computer dual boot with a “work” Windows and a “play” Windows. The latter is used to run games. Games, especially those computing intensive games are notoriously badly written so they can crash Windows at any time. Having them run on their own copy of Windows is always a good idea.

I have that same setup; it's so good to have another OS, when the primary OS crashes (mostly due to some MS Update going haywire). I have my updates set up as 'delayed', and once a week allow the OS to update. I'd set the OS I want to update as the 'default' in bootmanager, so as to minimize the risk of updates messing up. (Of course, I'd still keep my fingers crossed at each update).

I am having a lot of trouble. - My Laptop Bios Doesn't have Lagacy Boot Option - After i installed windows 7 or windows 10 - after reboot it through error related to kernel missing or corrupt files etc. but after messing with f8 safe boot or othsr option it sometimes load windows and run smoothly. Every reboot gives error and after entring exiting f8 menu or f9 ,f10 menu i can boot into windows. - It gives boot error only on ssd but if i boot from original hdd windows no error. - Is This issue Related to bios bios version - Hewlett-Packard F.1B, 5/10/2011

windows every time it updates becomes harder to run on lower end software so what you can try do is back up everything and clean install windows by formatting and deleting everything from your ssd or hdd, but if you running a 5+ year old laptop maybe its time to upgrade because your hardware cant keep up with the new windows features

Brian, great video, but how do I select a keyboard with the Euro sign (AltGr-5)? I have been installing Win 10 more times than I care to remember, but I never see that option anymore. Or is it (OS-) language dependent? Before, when I selected 'US International', I got that keyboard layout. I have changed the OS language to English some time ago (got tired of guessing how some buttons would be defined in English), and have not been able to find the Euro sign since.

@ 7:49 i actually deleted my dual boot. in the end it was better. was saving dual boot option in case i didn't like Win10 Pro. happy with results on Dell Inspiron 1790 very nice. old Win7 got corrupted since elderly parent computer illiterate did something. i tried fixing it but dad was annoyed "aren't you done yet" i wanted to just do a clean install but it's also a learning experience. yeah i've delt with many pc problemos. 'ol man hasn't said thank you... next time he has a problem i'll let him throw $$$$$$$$$$ away what's that saying "no good deed goes unpunished" i still prefer Win7 on my personal laptops. i do have macs with dual linux boot. a dedicated linux might get another an install Win10

You CAN install Windows 10 with under 1G or RAM, I have had it running (of sorts) with 155Mb RAM, I wouldn't suggest it, but it is possible to do it.

I followed through with this process and everything was going good (I was at the point where you enter your language and keyboard stuff) then randomly my screen went black (Yes, all HDMI ports are good but it showing there's no connection being sent through the hdmi cord). I restarted my pc and it showed a normal startup then it went black again... Did I do something wrong?
