how i fixed the above problem...i contacted microsoft support online, talked to an agent (waited less than a minute for one to be available) he did the remote access to my computer and after i contacted support within five minutes windows 8.1 was downloading and now up and running.

Hello Nick, I understand most of the laptops have the product key sticker under the machine by the battery. Mine doesn't have one. I am stuck on a popup screen where it can not complete the windows 8 installation and restart the computer. No matter what you do it come to that popup. Now I have to reboot with a reboot able usb.
