How to Draft a Cap Sleeve | Easy

My armhole is 18 inches - 4inches = 14 inches. Totally made a calculation mistake. :)

Please can you verify for every armhole measurement one should minus 4 for the cap sleeve drafting?i.e my arm hole is 14 inches do I minus 4?

@@ruthomoizirein7264 Hi it all depends on your preference. You can either minus 2 or 4. If you minus 2 then you have to start adding the sleeve from 1 inch from the side seam. If you minus 4 then you have to start adding the sleeve from 2” from the armhole. Even though I minus 4”, I stated adding the sleeve at 1 inch from the armhole because my sleeve has gathers. Since your armhole is 14, I will advice you minus 2 instead of 4.

I realize this video is 3 years ago but I’m confused about where to measure from when you measure 2 inches from the center line? It’s about 4 minutes and 11 seconds into the video. Thanks. Did you ever start your online classes?

Thanks for watching. Yes, you are correct. The 2 inches is from the center line. Not at all, I didn’t get to starting the online classes. (Life took over 😊). Hopefully soon. It’s still a goal for me. Thanks for asking.

They are called washers. I live in the US and that's what its called here. You can buy it at any hardware store. I don't know what it's called in other places.
