Wouldn't right handed pitchers fall off to the first base side more often?

If the bat is pointed at first base, it’s going to result in a bunt towards third. If the bat is parallel with the foul line going from third to home, the ball will bunt towards first

I’m watching this to learn what drag bunt is for MLB The Show. 😂 I’m new to baseball, because I’m from germany and there are kinda many new words to learn, that are not even described in the game. So thank you for letting me know, even how to do it in real life.

Hi Coach! Thank you for the tips, but one question. I'm a leftie, so should I bunt like a rightie and then turn when I'm gong to run or is there a specific way to bunt? I appreciate it.

My kid's a leftie. Instead of the drop step, like from the right side of the plate, I teach him to pivot heel/toe, so he's on his toe on the back foot. This way he can push off w/ his back foot once he bunts the ball. It's a bit harder to balance with the narrower stance of heel toe, but definitely achievable w/ practice.

your bat seems like its not over the home plate but very close to you, is it meant to be like that or are you supposed to have the bat over the plant

Quick question.I haven’t played baseball since I was 9-11.and I’m trying to get better because I want to join the high school team do u think I have enough time .the tryouts are in like January.I’m good a catching but hitting the ball is kinda tuff because I’m not use of the speed yet

Where's the lefty love?? In my opinion it is an easier option for a left handed hitter to lay down a drag bunt.

I would be curious to know what Coach Justin would have to say too. What I had been taught in high school as a lefty was to bring my left foot forward and my right foot slightly backward so my feet are in a straight line towards first, making the initial push with the left foot possible running towards first. I don't think a 1 foot move would work as a lefty, as you would be too close to the plate. I was successful doing that, but I was also a quick runner, so I never knew if I was doing it right or not, or if I was just making up for poor technique with speed.

The bunting footwork shown here is being proven obsolete in fastpitch softball circles. The baseball community (as well as softball non-believers) should take an objective look at softball slapper’s footwork. Slapper’s footwork can easily be adapted by right-handed batters for both sacrifice and drag bunting. Advantages: 1) The footwork efficiently moves the batter to the front of the box (into fair territory) without telegraphing intention to bunt. 2) The batter generates significant forward momentum prior to contact. 3) The footwork facilitates body positioning that naturally improves bat angles, reducing foul bunts (a common problem with young players). 4) The same footwork can be used in sacrifice bunting simply by altering timing in order to settle just prior to contact. 5) For average players below the college level, adopting slapper's footwork can cause a significant improvement in bunting effectiveness with minimal practice. Don’t take my word for it… try it! 🙂
