In this tutorial I'll show how to draw a flower and Bee in pastels. The blending techniques required for this were just as important as the finer details on the Honey Bee. It's easy to make mistakes and over blend when working with soft pastels so the layering process and at what point we soften these layers are key. Drawing realistic flowers, like any other subject relies on good contrast so throughout this tutorial I'll be demonstrating how the highlights and shadows play such a crucial role in drawing realistic artwork regardless of the medium we are using. This was a really fun project to work on and it enables us to practice all the important fundamental techniques that are required for drawing more complex fur textures.
