In this video I'll show how to draw a realistic dog's tongue in pastels. This can be a tricky element to get right an the layering process is important as well as using the right pencil technique. In this tutorial I'll show how I like to break this up and approach it in a way that ensures I capture as much depth and realism as possible. How the pastel is applied can ensure that the dog's tongue does not get rushed over because that will bring down the entire portrait. It's important that the tongue meets the same level of detail and realism as the fur so I'll show my preferred method for achieving that =).
