A little tip for everyone who reads this : when you're doing a rough sketch, upper body = face x 2 , thigh = face x 2, shin = face x 2, foot = face/2. This will give you 7 1/2 porpotion of body. Don't count pelvis in the first step to make it easier, because it can be counted with thighs

BUT since I discovered your channel, I have been feeling much more motivated ! Your methods are really clear for me and they reassured me a LOT because many tutorials are quite scary, even those made for beginners lmao. So I wanted to thank you for all those useful tutorials, they played a big part in my learning process and kept me truly motivated !! I've never been good at drawing anything, but I wanted to do something creative since I've recently had some more free time and this was the first video I turned to. The video helps a lot, thanks! Your channel seems very beginner friendly, and I like that.
@gabrielsylvestre37082 жыл бұрын
4:57 - I sometimes used to do smaller drawings. This helps with complicated drawings if you don't have a clear view of the overall picture. But rather than do that, I just started doing very, VERY light sketchs, and oval multiple lines of a drawing to size it all up and in, until I can determine where the strongest lines go, as I find the shape of the line with my pencil before the ink in. How people fix this usually in programs is they select an area and resize it or make it smaller (As I've seen you and Stanley lau (Artgerm) and other professional artist do.)

Watching this video on my tv rn and I’m only 3 minutes in and I’m 3 things, entertained, learning, and happy. This is already helping me out a lot, especially because it’s my dream to be a full time artist. This is my second channel so no it’s not my dream to be a professional gamer lol I just play games and actually I enjoy drawing some video game art and characters, but lately I’ve wanted to improve and try and use references less (I know there’s nothing wrong with references, I just want to have skill without using references) so I can expand. I also want to expand with drawing females because all I draw are males, which this helps because I know females are drawn in lots of poses (same with males of course). So thank you this helped a lot.

Thank you for this. Thumbnailing is something I definitely don’t do enough of. Also it’s nice to finally hear you tube artists pushing back against this weird notion about reference. I don’t know when it started but there’s this pernicious belief that’s crept into the wider art community that you can only draw from imagination in order to be a “good” artist. I’ve seen it in comments all over in many different art forums and it’s just weird and wrong. Good artists use reference. Professional artists use reference. Even Kim Jung Gi uses reference (though I suspect most people only know him from his art demonstrations where he draws from imagination though there’s a lot more going on there than people realise).
