This is what I've been looking for. There are so many people showing how to use procreate which is super neat but I don't have a tablet pad. So I'm trying to get my drawing skills up to a point where I can draw something that I can then stencil and tattoo. without any technology. I could just get a printer and trace and stencil but I'll watch all your videos and I'll get back to you when I have drawn something worthy. Thanks from New Zealand

I used to be an apprentice, and the artist I was shadowing kept telling me that my roses looked like squashed cabbages - really discouraging. That’s all I see when I look at trad roses now. Do you think he was just an arse or is there a knack to non-cabbagey traditional flowers?
@aersla17315 жыл бұрын
Thanks, that's now all I see, to be fair I'm not a huge fan of traditional look, but I have clients that really enjoy it so I'm trying to learn.

A girl I knew had a purple rose tattoo on her thigh. Just the rose, no stem or any leaves. If you ever want your rose tattoo to look like a cabbage, get it in purple and just do the head. Poor girl went back for a stem and two leaves couple months later.

Great channel Gram- appreciate having you as a guide in keeping it super traditional and way old school. I would love to know more about tattoo placement neo sleeves look cool but I am a fan of the old school sleeve. Any tips on unfolding an arm into paper to decide what tattoos fit where. You have such great videos! I'm just curious about one thing. How does one really learn how to draw "traditional tattoo style" way. I consider myself a pretty good artist, but a realistic picture of a rose is clearly different looking than a sailor jerryish rose. Does it just come with studying and looking into it and practice, or do you have any tips? Thank you:)

Yeah just look at traditional tattoos and draw them the same way...you will soon get the hang of it
