1) Make a plan of the outfit you want to draw
2) Choose a pose that will best show the outfit
3) Draw only the clothes, in pencil
4) Draw the girl and the clothes with a black pen
5) Erase the remaining pencil marks

I had the same problem and I never thought I could get better, but I just kept trying until I noticed differences in my drawings over time. It was like working on the figure as a whole then understand and focus on things that you might need work on, like hands and feet. I' am horrible in this area and it can throw me off my game because I feel embarrassed about how 'gross' it looked. Being embarrassed about how you draw or sketch can be your downfall, all you need to do is find you're own pace. You don't have to draw like anyone else, just find your own comfort zone.

This is really good. I still wonder sometimes why desigbers have consistent models, like they all look the same; the pose, the body, etc. And it's awesome. I always forget the pre-drawn pattern. You gave me ideas on how should patterns look like. Time to scan the magazines!
