It is funny that you mention being self employed and having the Germans freak out about a savings plan. I was over there as a musician this summer and fall and there was quite a lot of concern for my future because I don't have a pension or an IRA. I am almost 63 so I can understand the concern a bit but my French heritage must have stuck with me because I still don't worry. Even as a French family with generations of living in the US, growing up, our whole day also revolved around food. Every evening we would talk about what we would eat for dinner the next day and there was always a great deal of preparation for every meal. (Also wine with every meal unless it was BBQ.) We would have late dinners with music playing while we talked and there was never a hurry. I married a Polish girl so I know what I'm getting for dinner now. I've learned to love kielbasa and sauerkraut but I still have to make a duck once in awhile.

As someone who makes all their own clothes, I too always carry a tape measure to check proportions on garments that inspire me. Have you thought of getting an optician to change the lenses on those sunglasses? Why chuck the frames if you like them?

I agree on the tape measure and thought I were the only person thinking it is an essential item.

I feel like there are far too many new releases. Vintage perfumes have far more ingredients and in my opinion tend to be masterpieces of blending. Basically fast fashion has penetrated perfume too. Cherry perfumes and Gorman vanilla are taking over everything ATM. I wonder what is next? The classic perfumes will never be replaced by the new releases because the approach and end products have little in common.
