Wow. I learned something about realism with pencils (I'm already quite proficient with all the other techniques). A strong scaffold of textures is important. That should help me cut down a little on shading time. Thanks for that.

I started drawing as art therapy in Nov 2021. I'm very critical of myself and my art. Despite that I'm already somehow selling drawings and watercolour paintings which I started doing this January. I really love drawing but got stuck and couldn't progress until I found your videos. I see alot of myself in your work. And the way you deliver your instructions clicks. So thankyou very much. Also, I could really use some feedback on my work from an artist that inspires me. I think I know my mistakes but seriously have no real clue lol. It would be really cool if you could help. Rob

If you can do one thing, it would be more helpful to me if you can provide the reference image and the image of your drawing because I want to try the same drawing and want to test my skills so that I can know how much I learned through this video. Hereby I conclude my thought as every time love watching you and your teachings as you are my inspiration, my mentor thank you for this video, and waiting for more from your side with love and respect - Mit Parmar

Jono, What is that tool you’re using to generate the vertical thick, black smudge offset from the profile at 7:22? It looks the small round sponge on a short stick you show in the TOOLS section but instead of blending or light shadow it lays down a thick, rich dark line, a dark offset profile edge. If that’s the tool, how is it saturated with black graphite? I am fascinated by this. I’ll eventually figure it out with enough research but if you have time, I’d love to know. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to provide so much guidance on these techniques! I’ll check your notes for any online courses & your SQUARESPACE WEBSITE‼️. I am truly inspired & excited to work on this craft. 🙏💚

@JonoDry2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Oren! In the past I wasn’t a fan of mechanical erasers because of how easily they can destroy your paper, but I’m starting to warm up to them. I’ve found if I sharpen them often they can be really helpful in achieving nice sharp lines and highlights in dark areas 🙂

I use Faber-Castell pencils. I try to work with the softest graphite that I can get my hands on, so I usually go for an 8B pencil. Pitt Graphite Matt are awesome too. It just depends on your style 🙂
