I can't believe I paused at 6:11 and tried to figure out the faces on my own 😢I did pretty well but it was hard work. Unpaused and was FLABBERGASTED that Jazza was explaining his process! After so long being self-taught, having to fight for every technique and skill on my own, this is a nice change of pace. Thanks so much ❤

Hey Jazza! I really enjoy your videos, (I've been scouring through and watching a lot of them,) especially your character design sessions. Your videos have even inspired me to start my own sort of "Draw With" videos. Anyway, I was wondering if you were thinking of doing a sort of "extreme view" tutorial. Worm's Eye view up at a human figure, specifically. Something with extreme distortion and drama in comparison to what you have here. Thanks for the videos, keep it up!

I've only mastered drawing people at a front facing angle, profile view and and a 3/4 angle. Anything else just looks bad. Also I suck at drawing males ;~; they always end up looking more feminine O__O I mean that's ok if I want a feminine character...but not a manly one
@sparshrawt8 жыл бұрын
+Bethany Francia Same here (but i cant draw feminine) :D
@dolebiscuit8 жыл бұрын
Just keep practicing! Jazza had a similar problem himself: For a long time, he was very hesitant to draw females, because he couldn't accurately portray a feminine figure. But he conquered that fear, and just kept practicing, and now he's great at it! Don't give up :) If something is challenging, you know you're going in the right direction.

Something that was kind of enlightenting to me is drawing a looking up or down wards character in a side view and then right next to it turning the character around and drawing it on the extreme angle. I don't know it makes it way easier for me.

Hey Jazza I've been watching you're video tutorials for quite a while and I have to say you are an amazing artist and animator self employed to am I correct? your'e tutorials really go in to detail and I find where some drawing books fail, video tutorials are the next best thing. I find perspective difficult and I need to brush up on my anatomy I have a book but it goes in to Latin terms and I can't remember their names. I'm also trying to get the three basic fundamentals down with when drawing including what angle I want it to be viewed from the three include basic construction, adding features then shading I've always had trouble with going stage by stage as I seem to have a bad habit of drawing the head or half the body then add features its really annoying but I will continue to watch you epic videos. I particularly liked the one which was called How to Compose a Dramatic Scene - Angles, Framing, Asymmetry etc keep up the fantastic work Jazza :D.

@lizbenson71259 жыл бұрын
First off, great video. Good tips especially about the cross contour lines. I think my drawing today turned out terrible because I kept forgetting the 3D nature of what I"m drawing. And finally, I have a question: What should an artist say to themselves when they keep studying and practicing but don't get any better? I mean I can't quit, I don't have that option. But my self talk is getting really negative. I find myself thinking things like "It's too hard for you. Youre always confused. It's too confusing. It's too much to do, too much to remember, too much to be watching all at once. It's been 6 months and you don't have one decent drawing to show." I need something else to tell myself. And I can't tell myself what I used to: "You'll get better. Next time will be better." Because I know that's just a lie. Next time is most likely gonna be the same bullshit as this time. Maybe I'll make a different mistake or forget a different thing, but next time will be just as bad for some other reason.
