I think Hobbits totally wear knitted things. If MiddleEarth is anything like New Zealand, then sheep are abundant! Makes sense that they have lovely, hand knit sweaters, shawls, vests, hats….Plus there is something so earthy and homey about a knitted sweater. I love these outfits so much and now I want to wear some Hobbit style outfits from my wardrobe :) A quick way the make the green dress a little longer is to add some lace to the hem, depending on the size of the lace you could get and extra inch or two of length :)

I’m sure hobbits wore knitwear! Pippin had a knit scarf I think? Also there was a shot of a room where there was a heep of what looked like sweaters and socks. The outfits are based on a time period not unlike “outlander”. So yes knitwear!! And they owned sheep!

I think all my life I wanted to choose and surround myself with clothes that evoke history or a story (in my earliest drawings I gave myself chandelier earrings), but it took me a while to a) realize this about myself, and b) reckon with lessons I'd been taught growing up that pretty or eye-catching clothes were really only for "pretty" people who deserved to be looked at, and anybody else should avoid drawing attention. I was at least college age before I started to feel confident enough to give myself permission to wear the kinds of clothes I actually loved. Since then, I've usually had some kind of secret paradigm or theme in mind that I'm feeling in the mood to evoke with my clothes, even if in a fairly non-literal way. Hobbit was my first fashion paradigm lol - my very first aesthetic! So this video is super nostalgic and close to my heart. I've played with a lot of other themes since then, including Lady Detective, Disney Princess Living in Exile in the Woods, and Governess Chic, but I will never not love Hobbit!

When I was in high school, I frequented the local Value Village (I miss that place😞). One day, I found the most hilarious piece I've ever found, which was a thick, stripey bell bottom pair of pants (of course, polyester). There were like 20 colors of stripes, and those colors didn't match each other, like all different tones. I thought it was so funny, I had to buy it. $1, wore exactly once. I was not popular or anything, so not worried about looking good or bad. I bought them to wear them once for the humor of it, and donate it back. Well, everyone loved it & asked where my cool pants were. Oh well. I hope the next person got as much joy as I did!😁

I got an XL! I'm a 43 chest, 35 waist, 52 hip and it fits super well, with lots of stretch. Honestly, these dresses are so stretchy in the chest that you could size down but I wanted something really flowy.

Hi everyone! I really need some vintage help: anyone who knows how to prevent your swing skirt from going in the wheel while biking? I have already lost a dress to this and I bike everyday so I really need something to help fix this

Oooh, this is a good question, hopefully someone can help! I've never had this issue but I don't bike a lot, and if I am riding a bike I usually sit on my skirt/tuck it up under my legs a bit so the skirt isn't everywhere. Maybe using a hair tie to gather and hold the skirt while you ride?
